I know you weren’t asking me, but personally I thought the mission table in WoD was so much more interactive, rewarding and fun than the Shadowlands iteration. I also liked the music, zones and story better. Overall the leveling was a lot more fun and I liked my garrison way more than my covenant sanctum becauase I could personalize it.
And let’s face it, not having to go thru a tunnel of epilepsy between zones is nice and not something I ever thought I’d have cause to miss… I really hated having to travel between the horde and alliance areas in BFA and it seems in Shadowlands they doubled down on that extra travel. I’m super relieved that sort of thing will be gone in DF!

You barely needed to do any content in Shadowlands to know it was bad. Even people in the beta were saying it was bad from the get go, but people said “it’s beta just wait it’s not finished yet”. And yet, it was still bad on release, and it’s still bad when it’s about to finally be over.

I personally don’t enjoy some parts of it, but I do think that - at least gameplay-wise and mechanically - it’s more palatable when you aren’t forced to do it simply for the sake of gaining the borrowed power mechanics out of it. Just doing it casually, at your own pace, for the sake of any story stuff you might enjoy or the busywork of Covenants for rewards and the like? It isn’t terrible. And I certainly enjoy the Night Fae! It’s chill to just do war table stuff and idly pick up dailies.
I am ignoring most of the main campaign story, though. I’ve seen and heard enough about it from friends to know I’m better off pretending most of Shadowland’s main story doesn’t exist.

You can do that right now, I’ve gotten so many characters from 50-60 with timewalking spam in only about 1-2 hours each.

There’s very few expansions that haven’t done it for me at all, and Shadowlands is among them. The replay value of the questing in particular is bad.
I can see myself visiting just about every other expansion in Chromie Time, but not Shadowlands. Even my next most disliked expansion I might do to change things up but I’m happy to pretend that SL doesn’t exist.

That’s very fair indeed, I just wanted to mention it in case anyone reading this thread didn’t know they can skip that dreadful shadowlands garbage now if they really want to.

Well for one, class design was a hell of a lot better and not bogged down by long tedious systems that made you want to drop the game entirely, which is what happened to a lot of us over the course of the expansion.
me too but not for WoW related reasons.
Tuesday we hopefully finally get to see the gender of our child. been waiting so long was gonna have a gender reveal party but now it’s just like bleh we don’t want one. i think were all hoping for a girl though would be surprised if it were a boy though

All it comes down to, is each expansion is always the “worst one ever”… until the next one releases.
It’ll be about 2 or 3 weeks into the expansion, and DF will be the “worst expansion ever”, and people will come up with an oh-so-clever alternate meaning of what “DF” stands for.

WoD was amazing. I played so many characters and got them all bis geared, got ashran exalted, played arenas for the first time, loved the garrison and pet dailies, managed to do the celestial tournament, legacy raids actually gave amazing gold to farm and was able to buy a spectral, got raid mogs from mission tables, professions were great and had multiple 6/6 steelforged 91/99 twinks. Wod pvp was just countless hours of never ending fun. Not as good as mop, but really good still. Finished bloodthirsty 250k in wod too
Hpal was actually not a disaster in wod too

Story and setting.
Zones. (Venthyr zone is cool though)
Characters.
Main Town. Oribos is as uninteresting as it gets.
Expansion borrowed powers were yawn inducing.
Gear. Probably the worst looking gear of any expansion.
Mobs. I hate fighting robots.
Shadowlands was bad.

The story in WoD i found cool especially the fight against blackrock in the one zone. I found the dungeons meh.
