Hello - I am trying to log in to a character I made and played on Legion Remix, but I keep getting sent back to the character screen with a message saying “A character with that name already exists.”
Any ideas?

it’s just a weird bug right now </3 logging onto another character sometimes fixes it, or leave it for 10-30 mins until it ‘logs the character out’. its a stupid bug

It’s happening on all versions of the game, your character becomes unresponsive and the only option is to exit the game, but your character lingers actively for a long time. When it happens I just walk away for a good half hour and try again.
Yeah I’m having the same issue. Everything became unresponsive, so I had to exit wow without properly logging out and now I can’t log back in and get the same message

why I never bother with any new launch until a few days after, always a mess.
Exit the client, start it up again, and check your Warband to see if he has a weapon equipped. If not, he’s still logged in the game, and nothing you try will work until he has a weapon again. Then you can log in. If this happens in-game, he won’t be able to interact, only run around. At some point, it will disconnect you. Keep an eye on your Warband to see when his weapon is back.
