Tryan and Fortified for KSM 9.1? You crazy?

I don’t know that I share this opinion. With more people running them, the disparity will start to show difficulty and not popularity. If the community at large all have tyrannical keys around 13 in favor of 17 fort, we may see some additional tuning.

Both raging and bolstering only occur with tyrannical. Limiting saving time on trash. This could be looked at, imo.

Tyrannical requires people to do boss mechanics and is more punishing to failure than fortified. A lot of DPS in this game can do decent numbers on trash, but when it comes to bosses, they just can’t get very high. If you have DPS that know mechanics, and can do good boss damage, I think tyrannical keys are easier

With the second mode giving 33% of the score of the other mode, I think the way the scoring system works is that the flexibility is very minor compared to the extra grind/work demanded.

If they’d gone for a bit of a middle ground ish thing, where say you needed 1700 or 1750 or something, which by my math would be "Every dungeon at +15 on one mode, and ~third of the dungeons on the other mode, that seems more of a nice tradeoff. You gain some minor flexibility, and in return there’s a bit of minor additional effort.

That said, it’s a GAME. If the flexibility is meant to be an improvement, or a fix/adjustment to a mechanic that currently sucks, people shouldn’t be needing to trade anything for it. It should just happen, and KSM should still be “One of every dungeon at +15 on any mode on average”

Maybe if they split it up and named it Tyrannical Keystone Master and Fortified Keystone Master, each with a different reskined mount.

Honestly, while I’m still not a fan of this kind of “content”, your suggestion is infinitely better because it’s opt-in vs. taking something we were already doing and just making it require more work.

To be fair on that front, some specs are literally set up like that - you can either index into good multi-target damage, good single-target damage, but choosing one with gut you in the other. Feral is a great example in that vein. Most Mythic+ “guides” in general also encourage players to more heavily choose multi-target options/legendaries/conduits etc. at the cost of single target.

Played with my group all of us on alts. Still 2 cheating 17s. One we had a 200 ilvl lock. Tyrannical is literally just understanding the bosses and doing the mechanics. If you don’t have the dps for a 15 boss probably not doing rotation properly. The fundamentals matter and tyrannical shows those that don’t have.

I was in a 15 DoS this week with a rogue in full 213 or higher who only did 3.5k overall. Rotation and cd management.

Had a mage last week in my +14 doing less than 3K dps. When I mentioned the dps was too low to time this, they started trolling me and left after we failed the first boss.

I always check the cooldowns after each run to see who was trying and who was not. They were definitely not.

I have a hunter at 185 who pushes 5k DPS in bursts and averages 3k. At the end of the run I’ll have nearly 30-40 cooldowns burned. I’m really easy to heal, because I’m using every defensive cooldown when its up.

If you are in a critical role, don’t be afraid to speak up when you see people slacking and make a decision weither to continue or not.

That does seem low DPS being this late in the season, but I can also say that I got KSM early in the season with the average player doing low DPS and playing mechanically well, this was even before the dungeons got nerfed into the ground. The DPS check isn’t that high compared to good team work and routes. I think the 14 level is problematic as that is the minimum for the vault. If you feel your team mates are bringing you down, you are likely ready for higher level keys.

Doja Cat thinks we are ready for asians. Tinklewinkle thinks we are ready for keys.

What to do?

The seasonal affix looks interesting,

Routing is going to be far more straight forward. I’m sure some routes will go for 2 powers before grabbing any notable trash. I’d be interested to know if it ever becomes worth to forgo one. The debuffs are significantly more noticeable than having an extra mini boss.

My biggest problem with it is you now gotta do double the grind.

You’re only doing double the grind if you never, even once, did tyrannical keys for your vault.

Can I… get a key for the new dungeon or is it still going to be random? Because… I’m like tired of the dungeons im doing now.

You can trade your key at the end of a run, as long as it’s the same level or higher.

Trade it for the new dungeon key? Because I would like that.

Yes, you can trade it for a new dungeon.

not A new dungeon, THE new dungeon. I dont want to trade a key for a dungeon i’ve done alot for a key to a dungeon ive done alot. I want the key for the dungeon I’ve done never before.
