Hey folks.
So, I’m a new player. I reached 110 a few days ago and just yesterday I bought BfA. The thing I want the most is to unlock the nightborne race. I level to 111, can I still unlock them? I can no longer access their raids or dungeons, will this trouble me? Do I have to do it al over again in another character?
You can just solo the raids and dungeons at 120. You wont need a group to do it any longer. If you do, for whatever reason, there are plenty of people who are still doing the exact same thing and you can group up with them through the custom group finder.
You can unlock them at 120. You can’t out level the ability to unlock them.
You can solo that stuff at higher levels. i found that im able to solo the normal dungeons at lvl 115. Of course alot of folks were running those dungeons solo at 110.
As for the raids…yeah i would wait till 120 and maybe bring a friend along…unless u have a few friends at 120 willing to run them.
Myself am currently finishing my class hall story lines so i can obtain the class mounts…i dont need raids for those (for NB unlock you do though) but i have had to run some dungeons solo
Got it, thanks folks. I’ll keep leveling then
You have a horde character to unlock them right?
You can still do all the Suramar content to progress your reputation with the Nightfallen, at any level past 100, including the dungeons and raids.
Where you may run into difficulty, however, is that in order to actually do the quest to unlock Nightborne allied race, you will need a Horde character at level 110 (although reputation you gain on your Alliance character will still count toward the requirement), as Nightborne are a Horde race, and the quest to unlock them is acquired at the embassy in Orgrimmar.
Welcome to WoW!
You don’t need to do a dungeon or raid now. The quest that required something from a raid basically auto completes now by giving you the item needed.
After you finish the story and get the rep, you need a Horde character to do the unlock quest. If you don’t have a lvl 110 Horde character, just make a Demon Hunter and level to 110. They start at 98 I think?
I do have an horde char! I was just worried if I would have to do suramar all over again with him. I’m glad I won’t. But man, this kinda sucks. I paid for it, I shouldn’t have to unlock it…
Yeah, we’ve heard that before.

You pay for access to the game but not everything is given for free, often you have to unlock the things you want, like mounts and allied races.

The rep requirements are being halved next patch so there’s that.
The unlock is part and parcel of the Allied Race dealio - they aren’t just Expansion races, but mini-Quests in and of themselves, that we have to actually go out of our way to recruit.
I just found last night that I had met all requirements for Nightborne, and went ahead and unlocked them. I can assure you that meeting the story and reputation prerequisites are the hard part - the recruitment quest was really just a “and here is how they decided to join” wrapper-upper. It’s nice, but not at all difficult.
I look forward to seeing how Void Elf (the one I am actively trying to unlock!) compares. For now, I have a placeholder toon saving my name, and am chipping away at Argussian Reach rep.
I understand the frustration. I do. The Devs were trying to give us a new experience, choosing the races we want to have, then proving it by jumping through the hoops to get them. Which I also get! A lot of the new takes on old ideas in BfA seem to have gone over pretty flat.
Good news, the Suramar storyline is one of the best in Legion, and you’ll not find reputation hard to gain as you go along. Nightfallen is so far the only Broken Isles rep Tymmie here has at exalted - and I wasn’t particularly trying.
And, of course, the Suramar storyline will actually introduce you to who, precisely, these Nightborne are, distinct from Night Elves or the Highborne of Eldre’thalas, or the Thalassian High/Blood elves - which is, of course, the point of doing it this way.
Best of luck!
You can level to 120 and still unlock them, but you will still need a level 110 horde character to do the unlocking quest.
