The base Troll is the Eevee of the Warcraft universe. Just subject them to some random element and they ā€œevolveā€ into something new. Jungle Trolls are furry like jungle animals around them. Zandalari Trolls are scaly like their dinosaur pets. Forest Trolls have bark-like skin, like the trees they live by. Then you add magic and they evolve into Elves of various kinds.
