Tree of life should be the default form for resto

all the specs have a form that is the primary focus of that spec. Why should resto not have a form? Even if they nerf the bonus for being in that form or just make whatever the bonus is be passive and around the whole time. Resto druids should at least get the choice of having a form that buffs their spells like the moonkin form does for balance and cat does for feral.

I remember this debate. Fake druids wanting to see their armor. People who hate playing druid but still play it and complain they are playing a druid. How absurd. It’s pretty simple: If you want to see your caster form, don’t play druid.

If I were a Tauren I wouldn’t want to see myself either.

All jokes aside, I’m with you on this.

I used to call it broccoli form (broccoli from general tso chicken). It doesn’t really look like a tree imho.

I’m not happy unless my hands are in the air like I just don’t care.

I agree, I love the Tree of Life form, both old and new! I’m with you that it should be the default form and makes sense if it followed the rule of the other specs, where it improves your power for role-specific spells, but have to shift out to cast non-role spells, like when DPSing.

Like @Zeptuul said, they could balance it so ToL form had improved healing, but had other drawbacks while in it, so you’d still have to shift out sometimes, which is more in-line with the Druid fantasy of shapeshifting. This remedies it from just being a disadvantage to have to shift out simply heal on par with other healers, plus it would make things more interesting with trade-offs and such.

@Moliker is totally right. Shapeshifting is the core of Druid, and what makes it unique. If you don’t want that, there’s plenty of other healers/classes. On top of that, they even have glyphs to show your caster form anyway, so there really shouldn’t be any issue. As stated above, they could make a Resto version of Glyph of Stars. Maybe it could look like when you’re casting Entangling Roots or something; green tinted with vines and leaves surrounding you :herb:

no thanks the original tree form pretty much punished druids for the ability to heal as good as other healers

Man… You’re preaching to the choir… I’ve been asking for this for years… It used to be like this. Tree form used to actually increase healing for resto druids. Then they made it a talent. Then they nerfed it. Then they put it on a row with other decent talents.

I think it would be great to have it back. All of the other specs have a form to shapeshift into in order to maximize their performance. As the shapeshifting class it’s weird that we just don’t have one of one of our specs.

Ps. It would have to be the old Treant form though. The new one (lol new… It’s been in the game for like 7 years) sucks. I personally use the glyph of Treant so I can at least use it to make myself feel better about not having a shapeshift form.

Just an FYI for those that might not know. If you use the Glyph of Treant and go stand in a cooking campfire, you’ll actually get set on fire. It’s pretty fun.

I don’t know if it happens with the incarnation form, but that one only lasts so long… Treant form is better anyway.

Nah and not because I don’t want but because I just don’t trust blizzard to implement it correctly I.e. glyph of stars rn instead of just your plain character.

No thanks Jeff.

Was a fan of ToL back in the day, but not much anymore.

I am trying tho achiev that for a looooooooooooooong time … blizzard, pls.

It would be nice.

I’m with you brother… I loved ToL, but it did need and update to its look and then some. As far as if they should have it and giving stuff up to be as good as other healer??? Doesn’t really hold water as ever other druid form gives up something to use. They took out all the big heals. and in tree form you could cast Norish. I did many dungeons and raids in that form and never once had an issue keeping people alive. LB triple stacked and was just plan bad as all get out.,.,
As far as making ToL more fun to play I always said it should have a Root ability that would function kind of like Effervescent does.,. Root your self and everyone in 30 yards or 20 starts receiving a constant HOT. when rooted could even call it something like Hugging Mother Earth (jk on name) but then it should give you slightly more bonus to something else… maybe anyone getting your hot has Regrowth Proc crit. or let you cast LB on everyone that is close enough. then if they move to far they loose it and no Bloom. lots of things you can do and still make it viable and fun…

Personally I find the Idea of being able to root my druid and getting bonuses that way and up rooting them to get a slightly Different play style. And for the people saying that the people wouldn’t come out to cast bigger heals I’ll say this. Right now they don’t have those heals because they wernt needed ever. Any druid with triple stack LB that couldn’t keep his group alive should leave the game because they sucked… On my Druid I could solo heal Karazhan with Just a shadow priest. It was work, but druids handled raid wide Spike dmg fine if they knew how to play. Tranquility would heal a full raid up completely but then again the game required skill back then… not so much today… more like just button pounding. Somewhere along the way Blizzard forgot that there Groups where never a Trinity but a square. With the last corner being CC.

I just want it to not be a form but a costume buff instead. Way too clunky to use it cosmetically in combat when it acts as an actual form.

I’m an advocate for more xmog forms for all specs - including travel forms as I rarely use a mount on Druid.

Used to be that way. I hated it. Much prefer how it is now.
