Transmog Vendor causes graphics and UI to reload

It reduced the occurrence for a day or two, but now it’s back to a daily problem. I am in true windowed mode. I came from windowed (fullscreen) mode.

Literally changing all of my settings has done nothing.

Ok this bug keeps on getting worse. Its not just warband collections, transmog, and vendors, for me its now happening whenever I open up the group finder. When when this happens the glitch starts looping over and over again. I had to close out wow cause it wouldn’t stop.

I play other games with more intense graphics and nothing happens except that that game runs perfectly fine.

This is still happening all the time in September 2025…

Been having the same issue since whatever patch ago it was, can’t believe this hasn’t been addressed this whole time. Mine was somewhat tolerable for a while since it would just happen with transmog window and usually just /reloading would solve it temporally in that case, but it just seems to be getting worse and is happening with almost anything now. After it completely caused my pc to freeze and crash I switched to dx11 and luckily seems to have solved it, even so dx11 eeeew…

I’m still having this issue also. Very sad.

Was about to come here and say I hadn’t seen it in several days, but then as soon as I started typing this with the transmog window open, it white-screened and refreshed everything. I really wish they’d fix this BS. It’s total BS.

I went back to linux again with kubuntu 25.04 and tried running wow through lutris with the latest proton-ge and the issue is completely gone. The performance issues I had a while ago in linux seems to be solved as well.

It might not be a solution for everyone but if you’re comfortable with linux I’d recommend giving it a go. I’ve been transmogging a lot over the last week and haven’t had the issue once so it seems to be windows only.

Curseforge has a native linux client too so the transition is pretty flawless.

And I’ve tried booting over to windows a few times during the same period and there I get the issue a lot still.

If anything this seems to be getting worse. Just had my whole PC freeze after having this bug happen 3 times in quick succession…

Yep. Still a flippin happening! Still a problemmmmm, day after day after day after DAY. Video card has been selected for weeks. Direct X 12 has been selected for weeks. I can log in, DO NOTHING ELSE, open the transmog window and BOOM, white screen, asset reload. It’s at the point I just want to give up. It should be pinpointable.

What REALLY sucks, is that I was getting 60 fps on Direct X 11 BEFORE the stupid Undermine .5 or .7 patch messed everything up. It was running beautifully, no issues. Then the patch comes out and messes everything up, and the fps drop in the middle of Ringing Deeps backcountry made me try Direct X 12. I figured ok, this restored my fps back to where it should be, no issues in raid, computer is doing fine, OK good.

Then the white screens started whenever I open the mog window, or the toy window, or the mount window. Basically any window/portal with a displayed collection of assets. Something I access every hour of every day while playing and I just throws hands in the air why bother preordering anything at this rate.

This is super helpful and I hope they pay close attention to the fact the issue doesn’t crop up while running in linux. I’m on Windows 10. I really don’t want to deal with upgrading to 11 right now.

Still happens to me the second I open up transmogs.

And there’s are times when it randomly happens very very rare but it does.

OMFG! This has been happening to me for a few months and I’ve just ignored it thinking I needed a new graphics card. Then someone else in my guild mentions this issue and we compare and it’s the EXACT same issue. Then a THIRD person in my guild is having this issue. So this is happening to A LOT of people, clearly. It’s annoying AF! Especially on my transmog mount…

I updated from 10 to 11 during the time of this “bug” and it didn’t change anything with it unfortunately. Odd that linux effects it, makes you wonder where the root of the problem is.

This issue happened to me 3 times today without even opening my transmog window. It is getting worse not better.

This definitely isn’t an issue of having a potato PC or outdated hardware for me, for what it’s worth. I’m playing on an 8 month old Lenovo Legion with these specs:

Windows 11
14th gen i9 CPU
Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 8GB
32GB RAM
2TB SSD

Safe to say I should be able to run WoW without issues lol

Still running completely fine for me over in linux land. Haven’t had the issue once in about 10 days now.

Cant play the game because of this problem …fps is just too low in dx11

Just kept trying things but today I noticed when I just turned off DBM then reloaded UI transmog vendor worked with no lag or issues. Been frustrating all along but that’s only consistent fix I’ve had.

Want everyone checking on this to know that the add-on Plumber has a “sort of” fix for this. The dev for it made it so the Mog window only loads 6 images and that DID stop the issue while mogging. MOGGING ONLY though. I still get the crashes on my character selection screen and just anytime there are high pops in Dorn. I am probably going to move to Linux after reading the update as I was planning to do so when 10 loses updates. Thanks for the Linux Info!

Bump.

Maybe we should get some streamer to report on this bug to embarrass blizzard into action.
