Transmog Over Priced?

Safe to say, no. These types of costs are here to stay and the game needs them. In fact we probably need more of 'em rather than fewer of them.

(The video above provides a thorough explanation as to why these costs are important.)

I think things in MMOs are not expensive enough.

I am going to go against the crowd and say that WoD era gold sinks were good for the game.

You mean like when world quests went from 1200 to 600 after Legion

• Increase the cost of things they control the price of like items and services sold by vendors

You mean like when Blacksmithing flux was 100g per in Dragonflight

• Introduce a “tax” whereby they suddenly just delete X percent of the gold in a player’s inventory

I mean, they could “accidentally” delete trillions of gold and even more in items by breaking guild banks and responding “oops my bad” instead of having some kind of backup :upside_down_face:

(real talk, this event alone should have absolved the economy of nickel-and-dime shaving for more than a decade)

If dying should be avoided (yes) then they don’t need to increase the repair cost to make transmog free.

Just stop dying and you’ll have more money for transmog.

I’d rather see them remove durability loss in M+ tbh. We already have such thing going on in PVP, not sure why not PVE.

almost 1k for a mog change is ridiculous, not gonna lie.

Im fine with having a price, but at high level is bogus.

I will be sad when the anniversary goes away, cause i always wait the transmog event to do it for free.

Why?

One single world quest gives to us more than 800 gold, enough to pay a full transmog, and there are multiple gold world quests at same time. Also we have the races and the events. Gold is freaking easy to get.

There is no reason to complains about transmog prices.

SWToR’s economy is beyond borked because of other reasons. Most notably the temple chair exploit. (you could buy an item from vendors, and sell it back to them for like 10x what it cost)

But also, multiple, multiple Item dupe glitches. And other vendor exploits. People where making so much money during the exploits that they literally cleaned the GTN (AH) out just to have stuff as a store of value because inflation spiraled out of control so quickly.

too much expensive, for something you do all the time like me, in multiple characters

But there is not many of those, like they did in DF, you get one or two at best each 2 days. Today by example none

And its not like you use gold for something else like repair and crafting.

They dont give crap anymore, if it was in DF i would not complain.

Not quite, maybe for you, i still think is a hassle.

There is, i literally stated then, lol

There are 3 gold WQ appearing to me right now… And it had days that appeared around 5 to 6 to me, at once.
Also, don’t forget that WQs refresh every 3 days, so in a week, is a lot of gold only from this.

There is not, it’s just EXTREME lazy people whining.

Maybe you just didnt before, and they were still there, but i always do then, so today no new one.

could also be a server/realm issue, anyway is rng based.

You thinking isn’t don’t stop the fact that it is.

you mean the same expansion that had garrisons printing money…

Indeed. I didn’t say it did it perfectly.

But WoW does need gold sinks.

Think about it this way. How many players do you think change their transmog a day? How much gold does that cost? How much gold does that take out of the economy.

That’s likely a large enough amount that it actually does make an impact.

I would like to see the costs for transmog either GREATLY reduced or eliminated entirely.

I feel like studying scientifically the wow’s players mind.

WHY do you change mogs often? AND why do you guys want so much random mounts??

I had 2 mogs in my life and two mounts, recently I changed to this one in honor to the Forsakens.

I have all my achievements in this character in the game It isn’t showing in game because of a bug, I have 2 accounts and when I emigrated to another account and changed my name for some reason 2000 achievements just disappeared from this character. To show you my conviction when wow was downloading I was reading about classes on the site then I saw the Death Knights and said wow! This one is the one! but, I read them all, when I started playing I took a look at the races, Taurens called my attention and that was it, forsaken? Damn… I need to play as an undead, I’m a big fan of zombies, I couldn’t make a Dk due to my level in game then I made a warrior I level it up sufferingly, and then I made a DK and I’m a Dk since…

I find it funny to say stuff like scientifically speaking, to me it feels like roleplaying as a forsaken when I say so.

Good to know that, seems like you’re a good supply for my studies and it is nice to study fluffy things like mice and so on, I hope your breeding rate is fast enough in order to replace the high rates of mortality in the forsakens’ laboratory.

It is a philosophical problem in science, we assume that we can get close to some kind of truth even tough we never reach it fully.

This mentality is classic in closed minded people I would be honored by this act.

What astonishes me is the fact that you play in the Horde apparently.

Glory to the Forsaken!

First time I see mog addicts. lol

I will launch a clinic!

While I am far from an expert on all games with player housing I was certain of costs in LotRo.

The game would charge you for the a house, each size would have varying costs (flat cost), then once you bought the house, you had to pay weekly “maintenance fees” which is where the gold sink came in.

Because i like and its fun

Why you play undead death knight?

These things are subjective, im sure you have hobbies and other things you like or enjoy, kinda lame to be all high and might like “we need to study scientifically wow player’s mind”, like bro, is a game people invest

and how many of those quests are there during a single week?
you do realize we might want to swap transmogs more than just that one time we got 800 gold for running a quest, correct? lol.

WHY do you care? thats the more confusing question. Its my character. Its mogs Ive collected. Mogging isnt like combat damage that we all end up looking at in some similar fashion…I might want to swap mog sets 10 times in a day to try out different sets until I find what ‘fits’ that character for the time being. its a process.

Repairing gear is just a given when combat is pretty much a core feature of any game like this. Repair costs are assumed and relative across the board for most players.

Transmog, however, is vastly different in that I pay every single time I want to remog a piece or a set…there isnt any game mechanic like combat throttling the cost…I could spent 10,000 gold very quickly and quite easily just tinkering around to find out what I like on that character for now.
Totally out of control at this point.
