I will not. But I’m also not the one with money problems.
Im still doing 15 to 20k a day just mining to and from quests lol.
I can’t imagine just being a pure gatherer or full focus mining for an hour.
God took away my shame and dignity for a reason. Now I just run around naked everywhere. No more transmog expenses!
which type of Ore exactly sells for a lot? mostly isn’t worth the time now. unelss higher quality.
OMG please. I love playing with transmog but I’m also a broke Bish who’s never seen more than 30k gold at once.
So you’ve been working for $3/hour? Great plan.
You mean by, like, getting and replacing gear? That never happens, particularly at the start of an expansion.
Trial of Style shows there’s really no reason to charge for transmog. At all. If you have so much money you don’t care then it has zero effect. If the amount of gold you have means this is an issue then you’re forcing people to do low-paid work just to change their appearance.
We’ve gone through this many times with WoW over the years. Remember when you needed to buy reagents for teleport/portal spells? Or ammo? Or buying weapon skills? Or respeccing?
All of those things actually affect gameplay and we got rid of them because they no longer functioned as gold sinks. They simply became annoyances. Transmog fees are an annoyance for something entirely non-gameplay related.
Just make transmog free already.
Between the pathetic white knights and blizzard, you won’t find anyone that cares. It’s pretty sad.
I made over 3 millions since day one of EA, and dherbs still super high on the AH, idk what you are doing to dont have gold, ppl want everything free nowdays
Cost is only terrible because the system is terrible - every time you swap a piece of gear, you have to pay to mog it - and right now we are replacing gear left and right.
Make the system more like an appearance tab where you pay to set up a look that is independent of the underlying gear and it would be such an improvement.
Raid or die.
It always comes down to raid or die.
Uh… It’s all worth something right now. All of it sells for at least 20g/u at a bare minimum. Bismuth was 60g/u last night.
Is it white-knighting to tell people to just go make gold? It’d be one thing if the market was insanely deflated and nothing was worth anything, but that’s definitely not the case right now.
Hell, you don’t even have to pick up a profession. Go hit treasure boxes in zones, get Profaned Tinderboxes. Even fluctuating in value they’re worth a lot.
It’s a terrible return on investment for normal joes. I make more than that per hour at my job, I’d rather buy a token than spend time farming.
Why would grinding for an hour invalidate their claim that transmog is too expensive, additionally?
The cost of transmog is nothing depending on how you play the game. Now if you only are doing instanced content where you don’t passively accumulate gold, gear to vendor, or just trash items then yes transmog is too expensive. That is not the fault of the game but of the play style you chose.
Pointing this out does not make people a white knight.
Some people enjoy being involved in the market and making money on the game. That, or they want to use the excess gold for balance.
I like herbing and mining because it relaxes me, much like skinning. It’s something I can sit in voice and chat with friends, play DND, watch something on YouTube, etc. while doing it.
If you fit into neither category and just want gold, then yeah, go ahead and spend cash.
If 400-700g every 2-4 days is too much gold for somebody, I question how much they’re even playing to begin with.
Now, if you’re changing your mog more than once a day? That’s very much a self-created issue.
I could never. In fact, I refrain from equipping new pieces until I can get to a transmog guy.
Well when they were throwing out 600 plus Gold on world quest that took all but 60 seconds to complete I feel like they should start the process by lowering the gold that they’re dumping in to the system
In effect what happens here is you and I end up spending more gold to transmog to get it out of the system while the guy that’s the auction house runner isn’t paying all that gold to transmog because he just doesn’t care.
So they are dumping gold into the economy that the players who don’t bother transmogging get to keep
Which is handled how? What is the system in ESO.
I always wait for Trial of Style and the free transmogs. Until then, the other players will just have to deal with whatever horrible look Blizzard has foisted upon my toons.
LoTR at least allows you to transmog the slot, not the gear. If Blizzard did that, the price isn’t that bad. But since they don’t, the gold stays in my toons’ pockets because unlike the ones screaming ‘do dailies/AH/whatever’ I don’t find chasing gold fun, or spending what miserly amounts the game doles out for questing on transmogs.
So I agree, the prices are geared for the moneymakers and like the horrible horrible prices of the Warband bank tabs, not for me. I’ll stick with a bank toon and mail.
That’s why most of the time I roll void elves
