World of Warcraft should lift the class armour restrictions for transmogs there’s no reason why a mage can’t look like battle Mage in plate
That said they should change soulbound to account bound so if you get a plate drop you can transmog it on your plate character instead of running the same instance on multiple armour classes

Though, for clarity, I’d leave the class tier sets as class tier sets, but everything else should be unlocked so any armor type can be transmogged.
Agreed some raids and dungeons are extreamly painfull I’d rather not run them on multiple characters to get different armours and that’s if they drop or its multiple characters multiple times
