Transfer cost

Another good example, I don’t agree with you so now I’m “throwing a tantrum” in your head fantasy. Like I said, not worth talking to. This will be my last reply. Have a good one.

Race change cost is a bit insane, too.

I agree, that person can’t make any form of a reasonable response. The response is just an attack. Example : “The only people who say that are people that can’t afford it or have never had a real hobby.”

Also “have you never been to a car dealership before”

They make comments like that when someone says luxury items. Amazing how they think they can go to a Porsche dealership and get a Taycan on sale I wonder if they even know what getting an allocation is.

Yeah, it’s $10 in FFXIV which I think is a fair price

Yeah, some people have 0 regard for their money and just force that same thought process on other people. “I don’t care so you shouldn’t care” just isn’t a good argument.

Two other things that many people may not consider is time and names.

The cheaper it is will result in a greater number of people wanting to take advantage of it, and possibly even more frequently. Each of those takes time. Sure, it is pretty fast right now but in the past it took a bit longer. Add a major increase in numbers and you get a longer wait time before you can begin to play again. Enter a new wave of complaints and people saying they are owned a refund for lost playtime.

For names, I believe that unless it is a super low character (probably cannot even be transferred) somebody owns it for 90 days if they do not reclaim it with a new toon with the same name. If they do not do this then they will leave a trail of names that cannot be used on a 90 day cooldown with every hop. We already have a name shortage as w/o needing to add more causes.

As far as just how simple this is (impacting price), do we have any Blizzard technicians that would be doing this online? All other information from others is supposition at best. Heck, if I want to say that the cost of labor and materials should be no more $200 but Blizzard is giving us a massive discount, it is no better than anybody else.

More so your responses are why I said you’re throwing a tantrum.

Using words like “forced” on something that’s not forced sounds pretty tantrumy to me.

I made reasonable responses. You just didn’t like them.

Just because you can’t seem to understand that you stated luxury not high end luxury items isn’t my fault.

A boat is a luxury item. And some can argue a car is too.

I mean dude you’re the one throwing a fit over $60.

Hobbies are expensive. If you think $60 is a lot of money then I’d hate to see your reaction to actual expensive hobbies.

There’s no way that these are not automated tasks that run in batch jobs. there isn’t a person overseeing each individual transfer.

Cost of labor is 0 after the initial setup of the scripts that run the batches, and scheduling the server jobs.

Don’t pay it or buy it with gold.

And Kaurmine with the comment of the thread and the proverbial “mic drop”

Getting paid 25 dollars for a 2 sec transaction. Sounds like a keeper why would they lower it if people still defend and pay for it.

I’m not saying there is somebody there flipping switches. Even if 100% automated, money had to be invested to set up the process, the hardware, software, maintenance cost, insurance and so forth. Costs need to be recuperated, and using a different source of income to do so is extremely poor business practice. It is literally admitting that the feature was not worth investing in.

That is a single part of the process from development to implementation, I’m guessing that it would likely have been revisited since. I would also imagine that paid employees are factored in since most things do not work indefinably w/o upkeep. I mean, ones and zeros still need a place to be processed lol.

Seriously, I could count the number of times my dog barked a squirrel as my price here and it would be just reliable as other posts.

obviously they have overhead - and a lot of it.

I disagree that that merits a $60 fee on an automated process. $10 is far more reasonable for what you’re getting.

Also lol @ the “they want to balance server pops” (I don’t remember who said it)

blizz hasn’t cared about balancing server pops for 10 years now

The ol’ “I want something so it should be free” argument again?

Let us make it as simple as it can possible with economics 101: If people are willing to pay for the service, there is no incentive to lower the price.

It wouldn’t be a problem if being on a small server wasn’t a content trap. Oh no how foolish of me; the server I picked that claimed to be high population isn’t high population at all! Alas if only I could have known all those years ago when I was getting back into the game that only certain servers have populations that can field end game raiding back when I wasn’t even planning to partake in it!

Fortunately there is an overpriced even when on sale option for me to transfer my legion of alts to a place where the trade chat sells carrys and 1/10 mythic isn’t top end content. All for the cheap cheap price of more money then I spend on an expansion. It nets to a really cheap price because I won’t pay for it even if it eventually leads to unsubbing.

It should be $10

Especially for people with alts

I’m sorry, but I never asked for anything to become free. You read something wrong.
