With expansions being done faster or that is their plan. I imagine traditional flying will be introduced near the end of said expansion unfortunately.
Or if they treat the three as just glorified major patches of sorts… DLCs’, we may see traditional flying come in WoW midnight which would be like a 10.2 of sorts.
Seems like blizz has been pretty clear about not caring if the available accessibility options aren’t enough to get DR workable for those folks. Id be extremely surprised if that changes going forward.
To be fair, they are adding more in 10.2. I’m not sure what or how they work, because I haven’t heard back in a while about the accessibility research.
Ion said at the Deep Dive today, that regular flying will be unlocked as soon as you finish the campaign quest-line; no rep grind.
He did say that dragon-riding will be unlocked day-1, so those that can’t dragon-ride due to motion-sickness, severe arthritis, etc. may feel at a disadvantage until they finish the campaign, but there will be no rep-grind to get regular flying and it will not be delayed to a 11.1 or 11.2.
I’m not a fan of Asmongold, but he has the Deep Dive posted already. See time-mark 34:00.
How many people really get motion sickness from movement on a screen? This is a legit curious question since according to the forums it’s implied to be like 50% of the playerbase, but I don’t know a single person who does, both IRL or in-game, and I, who gets motion sickness IRL, don’t get it from stuff on screens.
It’s a combination of issues motion sickness, arthritis, finer motor skills etc it’s not just one thing.and also not every one is effected in the same way for many illnesses.
I personally don’t get motion sickenss but I have to turn down all the flying effects to use dragonflying, as it really bothers my eyes because they can’t adjust fast enough. But apprently there are enough people with motion sickeness from games that things like the later rollercoaster tycoon games and Doom’s have it as a warning in their manual notes. I have talked to a couple people that say they couldn’t play dragonflight at all due to it causing seizures with their epilepsy. I honestly feel Blizz should just make it toggleable without any requirements as a baseline and the barriers need to be removed.
I personally do not, in WoW, with dragon riding. I did in Path of Exile, tho. Could only handle about 30minutes before I’d have to log out.
But there are other things besides motion sickness that can hinder someone’s ability to enjoy dragon riding. Lag, bad mouse, arthritis, tendonitis, etc…
I just fear that with the track record Blizz has, if they feel backed into a corner, I can see them just saying NO flying at all til max level.
Nice editing job! However, if I tell someone “see time-mark XX:XX” presumably they would click the time mark of interest and skip to the intersecting which also saves them 35 minutes of watch time.
That seems like a grossly miscalculated percentage you’ve got there. 50% of forum users get motion-sick from dragon-riding?! How on earth did you arrive at that conclusion?
Exactly… how good is it being in War Within, if people with issues due to dragon flying have to complete the campaign first to play the campaign? I know people who left the game because they paid for Dragonflight and cannot even ride with someone else without physical issues due to the movement.
