Everytime you post, I want to eat crayons. I actually cringe, and wonder if you’re just a bot made by a player that thinks no changes at all to an old dusty game makes it good. Not only to mention that but you’re literally posting on a classic wow character, not even a WOTLK character, which makes me value your hostile trolling even less. hopefully you do understand that a little sunlight can turn that frown upside down.

While I enjoy the Trading Post on retail, I don’t see a lot of reason or even need for it in Classic?

Half of the stuff on the TP is cosmetic mogs anyway - and uh. Classic doesn’t have transmog, so like… what would even go on it? Just seems like a very strange idea to have, and while Blizzard is known for those… this seems off, even for them.

Leave the Trading Post in retail, where it actually has a point to existing. Classic doesn’t really need to be changed to match retail - that’s why they exist as separate game versions.

Nope, I was a fairly gifted young woman.

I can’t help it if you don’t know your rights under the law. Sounds a lot like a you problem.

I mean it’s not legal in the states, that’s why all of those servers are run in Europe.

As a law student, actually, and if you had the intellect requirement to read over the ToS, it is actually not legal in the United States, and could actually land you in federal prison if blizzard cared enough to get the government involved. Also, it’s a perma-bannable offense, just so you know. Non-negotiable.

Operating a competing service is indeed not legal. However that’s not what we’re talking about here. But you’re using freely available software in a way it was designed to work.

There is no ToS any longer. It’s a CoC now. And it’s been shown multiple times that the only thing that the CoC covers is your interaction with the service and not things outside of it.

The only legal foothold that Blizzard has is through their own service and the threat of punishment for Copyright Infringement.

As a law student you should be able to realize there is a separation and a reason the company goes after hosts an not users as well as why they keep punishments within their service and do not attempt to seek legal remedy from users.

Can they suspend or ban your account? Yeah. Will they? Probably not. Am I risking a forum suspension? Sure, but it wouldn’t be the first time and won’t be the last.

You are severely misguided and lack the understanding of which the subject you’re attempting to discuss. I’d really hope you had the braincells available to process this but I’m sure you’d rather call me names than actually read something or watch a video on the topic.

Despite your insistence that I know nothing to which I speak and am a “clown” - I can assure you that I was there deeply ingrained within that world.

As a sampler: Nostalrius didn’t shutdown or buckle under a simple legal threat. They would have been perfectly fine ignoring it. They closed due to their own respect toward the source material. The CnD was sent to the provider and not toward any of the staff. The provider also hosts other versions of the same project under the abandonware grey area. The provider actually told them to not worry about it.

btw the codebase was continued and userbase is still up and running to this very day.

Please do continue to engage with me on the topic, though. Perhaps one day we can hash it out in court.

This is the worst combination of thread and comments I’ve seen in a while.

¯_(ツ)_/¯

When they stop trying to tell me that I have no idea what I’m talking about I’m well up for going back to the main topic. lol

(I’d rather not see a faux-battlepass be implemented into Classic/Era, but am not against cosmetic changes. Era and Classic does not need to become Retail, though.)

I think only you two are even reading these responses anymore.

This has no place in SoM or Classic Era. Even SoM isn’t meant for changes like that. I think Blizzard knows that. I’d like to think they know that that drastic of retail items added to the game would tank it hard.

It has really come down to the “some changes” mentality that Blizzard has been pushing since Classic phase 5. We have to push back on it extremely hard or Team 2 are just going to do whatever they want.

I didn’t get one of those surveys so they don’t care about my opinion but It’s extremely tonedeaf of them to try and implement a recent retail feature into a game like this. It’s a slippery slope that I do not trust them to not go down.
