What about a playable race called Tenders that look like human-sized chickens (like the funny as heck chicken lawyer on Futurama) and of course one of their racials would +5 traders tenders per M+ completed. Resto Tender…
I mean, that’s quite literally the way the system is designed, and it’s designed that way for a reason. You’re not supposed to be able to afford everything. So you focus on the things you want most, and then you leave the rest for another time, if at all. If you know you want something but can’t afford it that month, you freeze it until next month, or the month after, or the month after that, until you have enough tender to spend on the frozen item.
Your argument of “I should be able to afford all the things.” doesn’t make sense from a game design perspective. It’s like going into a retail store and demanding that you should be able to buy one of every item in their catalogue, then getting upset that you can’t do that.
All they have to do is once you hit the monthly tender cap you receive tender but it’s at a discount and you can only get up to 250-500. That’s then becomes a choice for you to end once you hit the cap or go on ahead and do a bit of extra if you feel you’d like more tender.
I don’t think it’s so much about wanting everything but I know with something’s I’d like to complete the set so for example the have the ninja turtle type weapons for the month of May. If I get the Bo staff I’d like to also get the katana, nunchucks, sai, and also the turtle back. Just in keeping with themes. You can’t freeze those and there’s no telling when those items will return if at all. I’m still waiting for the purple robe to make a return appearance. =/ They also introduced a outlet vendor in Jan Feb that would’ve been great for switching out items ever so often.

I personally think that they want to just keep us in a perpetual sense of tender starvation so that when they put a pet/mount+tender bundle up on the store, it’ll sell like crazy lol
I’ve thought that once you hit the 1k (or higher for those odd months) limit, you should get 10% of the tender that you’d normally get. It’s not enough to compel people to grind it out, but it is enough that it will eventually add up AND as long as the system is going to tell us about the Tender Achievements we get, we may as well get rewarded for them.
10% is just an easy number - I wouldn’t object too strongly if it was even just 1 tender for each achievement after reaching the item reward at 1000 tender earned.
I suggest unsubing and deleting the game so that source of frustration is no longer part of your life.

The amount of tender we get seems fine, to me.
We literally cannot. Add up the cost of everything at the post and you’re over 1k without scrolling down. Heck, the Horde vs Alliance month would tap you out after half of one faction’s set of weapons.
Too many items that are overpriced and kneecapping players with a 1k tender limit, which is, quite frankly, a paltry sum.
This is my biggest issue with it, you don’t know when or if a certain reward will come back around. I honestly don’t think I’ve seen the quiver come back since it came out initially. If Blizz would maybe post some kind of timeline for when items will come back around that could go a long way.

like, when player housing becomes a thing and stuff for it goes onto the trading post, was we all know will happen. then the amount of tender we get per month should go up without increasing the activities needed. maybe an extra 250 for just logging in. *750 login and another 750 for doing 1000 points worth of stuff. or make it nice and even. keep it at 500 login but give 1000 more tender for doing 1000 points of stuff.
The trading post is 100% all about keeping you subscribed. When you realize that, all of their design decisions will make a lot more sense to you.
You do know some items do come back another time? Get what you can and wait 6-9 months for the missed item.

Actually surprised they haven’t sold a sort of monthly pass that lets you earn an addition 500-1000 for doing activities.
Not my fault it’s overpriced. Heck, the High Scholar set was 500 tender and didn’t even come with pants!

Or they could just replace some of the present-day items with housings items.
So instead of a flying mount and a ground mount and two pets, the Trading Post could offer a flying mount, a couch, a pet and a bed.
And/or instead of six weapons, it could offer three weapons and three different table styles.
And/or they could cut the little mog pieces amount in half and replace the removed half with a variety of chairs and endtables.
Easy peasy!
