They really truly only wanted to put, specifically piles of tenders on the store in case the need for them were to ever arise but they aren’t going to sell them because selling things on a store would be silly.
"Hazzikostas said the team is not looking to change how the Trading Post works, and noted that the negative community reaction to the very idea of players being able to buy Trader’s Tender has been heard “loud and clear.”
That’s such a weird thing to say.
It’s almost like they did everything they could to make it look like they were going to sell them… then changed their minds after everyone lost their collective XXXt over it.
But that can’t be true because they just put them up there for fun in case they are ever needed in the future and changing their minds after the fact is in no way a reaction to the players saying they hate it.
None of this changes anything for me. I’m not in the 100/day posting club that is at risk of carrying bad information or have any stake in being wrong; I’ve always been happy to listen to Ion and when he gets on a proper interview he comes through as a bit optimistic, but at least not a flat out lier. I actually find him likable in a professional sense.
But I’d like to see the numbskulls like Bellular be a bit more apologetic about carrying speculation and admit their part in the click bait and fear mongering; if you don’t have a contact at Blizzard, you’re little people.
I’m sure they’ll use the assets for bundle deals in the future. Like “Get these three mounts, 50% off, +250 Tender BONUS” or “Pre-purchase the next expansion and get Transmog X, Mount Y, and 500 bonus Tender.”
Would fulfill the “won’t sell it on it’s own” specification, and honestly, I’d be fine with it being handled that way. The post rewards are all fluff, people being able to get an extra nugget from a one-time purchase won’t hurt anyone.
