Bought it without thinking since I was mad at myself for years for not buying the Original Bronto
Told the GF he I bought it and she said meh if you didnt spend it on that you would spend the same amount on something equally as silly. Shes not wrong
I happily own both brutosaurs.

Paying sub money to a company you believe is engaging in predatory business practices is an even weirder hill to die on

That’s a lot of words for a
And again; I haven’t bought it.
My profile’s not hidden.

The bottom line here is that gaming companies that participate in using predatory monetization models are preying on obsessive compulsive individuals. Yes whales can afford it. But the average persons can’t and won’t buy into this scheme. But those that aren’t whales but become obsessed with something in the game that’s being sold for world cash will buy it even if it bankrupts them. This type of psychological manipulation has become the norm in the gaming industry and is reprehensible.
Blizzard has me locked in since vanilla. If they throw up a $1000 legendary mount, I’ll most likely buy it.
Wait, what game content is being denied to me?
Better outlaw gambling, alcohol sales, sugary soda and highly choloric foods, ect then. Because some people can’t control themselves.
Where does it end?
I’ll never understand how we got to the point of throwing personal responsibility and accountability out the window, and laying the blame of failing anywhere else but on ourselves.
I mean; We are literally teaching addicts in rehab that they are not responsible for their addiction. And the rest of society instead of laughing at the sheer absurdity of that, are buying into it right along with them.
Just make sure you buy buy buy cuz it’s going away Jan 6th!
That’s… not gachapon, though?
thing is, it is both, personal responsibility and outside factors
calls it proof wow is becoming a gatcha game, completely ignoring that there is no RNG involved in this.
laments how you used to earn rewards by putting in game quest and stuff, ignores that the reason wow token sold out was because everyone dumped their in game cash, i.e. their in game success, into tokens to redeem for store money to get the mount, basically buying the mount for 1.5-2 million gold.
Massive L’s here.
You do realize that you can purchase this mount with in game gold using the token system. Is that not the same as earning it through in-game effort?
Also, this doesn’t seem like a gacha mechanic since there is no RNG.

I’ve found people have different perspectives when it comes to spending money.
I saw a guy at Jbhifi once who bought like 500-600 bucks worth of transformers action figures once.
