Since you are apart of the WoW Community Council maybe you can bring this information to someone within the World of Warcraft development team that can potentially make change within the actual game and forums.
You even mentioned things that I wasn’t aware of and takes this stalker/harassment behavior to a new level. Being able to track peoples online presence is too much for me to deal with even when you change your characters name it. But someone that you even ignore having the ability to send you mail that you cannot even see which prevents you from changing your characters name and even server transfer is absurd. This is truly some of the worst form of stalker behavior and harassment and they seem not to care how it actually impacts the community and individual players alike. They take action against so many petty things yet let things like this go on forever and do nothing about it at all, even address that its a problem. The friend system is obviously archaic and outdated and needs change. If change can’t be made to make the outdated friends system safe to use just remove it and rely on Battle.net as the only way to add friends you enjoy playing with. Hopefully something changes soon.
