Toxiest players in your wow life?

I’ve participated in PVP content up to duelist in BFA and M+ content past 2000 rating. As well as pugged heroic raiding for the last two tiers of BFA and legion. I’ve also played this game since classic and have achieved much higher progression in other xpacs. But in BFA I’ve mainly pugged since day 1.

I have to say for the most part I’ve been treated well in BFA Heroic raids while pugging and doing PVP content and mainly seen others treated well to.

Honestly, I feel the heroic raid pugging culture has improved even more since legion and people are more patient and willing to help others improve while we battle the bigger enemies of Azeorth.

As for PVP. Well, PVP’ers definitely have a style to the way they communicate but for the most part I do not find it toxic. Its always interesting to hop into discord with a brand new PVP group but not for the feint of heart. Remember, its a battle, so people are loud but I think overall the culture is pretty solid. They might be pretty down after a loss but then laughing together on the next win.

Mythic plus, however, I have found that the content this xpac has developed or provoked a very odd culture on N/A side that’s different from what I feel WoW is meant to be. I have found that a lot of pugs in N/A that aren’t always willing to help lower IO players gain score. I think higher IO players need to remember, that its just IO and fun to collect but to give lower IO players a chance if they show experience or skill in other areas. Some of the best M+ runs I’ve had are with players who have had half the IO of the group’s leader. They do a fantastic job regardless of their IO. Everyone deserves a chance to progress in this game and shouldn’t be stopped just because they have a lack of an external IO score. That being said, I’ve heard great things about the EU M+ pug culture and I’ve meant some incredibly humble and knowledgeable players in M+ N/A.

Its possible pugging in the N/A M+ community is probably the most challenging areas to find fun gamers who don’t take the content to seriously and want to help each become better at the game in a kind and educational manor. Its much harder to pug M+ in BFA then legion. I must say, if you are new to WoW, please don’t take personally some of the attitudes of M+ players. Some are kind, and others well, probably the best bet is to just avoid them. Play with people who you like and don’t give up pugging M+, find a community to join. Along the way you’ll find the gamers who you like and be sure to friend them. Its possible the content puts to much personal responsibility on DPS to interrupt, stun etc while dodging stuff and this has lead to the environment we see today in keys. Try to laugh a wipe off, apologize if you make a mistake and make the best of it. After all, remember its blizzard who designed the silly content :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Happy pugging and stay positive!

I had someone yell at me while doing world quests on my hunter.

“Animal companion? Are you stupid? Thats a huge dps loss right there”

Wasn’t in a group with him, he just saw my hati-skoll pet combo and decided to yell at me over it.

Gnome rogues in LFR hands down

In the Urban Dictionary (which I never use for myself)

toxiest

/toks-i-est/ . adjective: the most toxic, the most poisonous.

But proper, it would be most toxic

This is one of the best post I have read in this whole forum. Thank you for your kind words.

You took the words right from me.

Im fairly new to the game, i encountered toxicity in dungeon finder, people tend to disrespectfully pull groups before tanks do. I know its only a low level 5man, but we should respect every roll and make their life easier

What is the popularity with him? I seen a couple of his vids and it was annoying as well as boring.

I’m so toxi

mine are people that can’t spell correctly…

Main tank in Vanilla. Thought he was god’s gift to raiders and nearly destroyed the guild after he wasn’t allowed in an alt MC run after showing up an hour late right when we were on the boss who dropped the 2nd half of the leaf he needed. Before the pull he was demanding someone else leave the raid so he could come in and he could do that boss. He had done this multiple times before and we were sick of it, so we flat out said “no be here on time and do the whole raid if you want chance at loot”. The leaf dropped and another tank got it (it was still their 2nd piece, so it wasn’t like it was a waste). He absolutely freaked out and left and took half of the core raid group with him. Odd that they weren’t the ones running MC 2 times a week on alts to help different tanks get Thunderfury.

I’m yet to see nerdrage more intense than this one gnome mage back when we were doing battlegrounds for MoP cloaks. Poor bloke must’ve got a double dose with his vaccines.

My lovely, sweet-natured daughter was abused horribly in a Legion Mythic Raid last week because she wouldn’t switch spec from Shadow Priest to Holy. (She has never healed, doesn’t enjoy it, and queued as a DPS.)

She left the raid because his abuse became so bad, and he chased her to her realm, and continued to spew his toxic vitriol to her!
She logged off and came out to me because she was so upset. I told her to report him, which she did.

I’m more angry about this than I am about any abuse I have ever received in the game. Grrrr… Mother bear found it VERY difficult not to chase HIM to his realm!
But I didn’t, I assured my girl that Blizzard would take care of the issue. (I hope they do!)

The people on trade chat, spamming nonsense that’s deliberately offensive, racist, sexist, and just rude. I hate them, and to me anyhow they are the most toxic. It’s what new players see when they enter a glorious city for the first time. No wonder WoW has a bad rep for community.

Oh, I hate them too. It’s become so much worse since the servers all merged in major cities. It seems that every Nasty from every realm is now competing to be crowned King of the Ugliest Words.
