Yeah so at the very least, even if you don’t want to give your healer any coin we should all try our best to move a little more than we normally do. Don’t worry about moving and it end up being the case you didn’t need to either. I’m sure the healer will appreciate the fact that you didn’t sacrifice yourself and maybe even the integrity of the group for a few measly points on a leader board. A leader board you likely weren’t even close to the top of anyway. (speaking for myself on that one)

I’m sure the healer will appreciate the fact that you didn’t sacrifice yourself and maybe even the integrity of the group for a few measly points on a leader board.

I think we’re going to be seeing a return to the days of “training” people to do the sidestep shuffle (I saw a lot of this back in Cata, and got my first taste of raid leading because of it.)
What I mean is periodic moments of aoe temp pools of bad, that go out in waves of 4 or 5 or whatever. I’ve been consistently seeing people sidestep one, maybe two but then they keep trying to go back in to their dps rotation before the aoe of bad is done.

It’s like, guys, understand something, please - If you die due to failing the mechanics, your dps will be nill, zero, zip. Do the dance, and win that way.

So I’ll admit that I do this quite a bit and it’s always because I don’t yet know the “tempo” of the fight yet because I’m likely doing it for the first time. So if you’re my healer (this goes for every healer) and you see me doing this and you say to yourself “Right, he’s not getting it… I gotta let him die” because you are rightly prioritizing people who do know what they’re doing, please do!

Trust me, I will not take it personally, I will not be sending you any salty messages afterwards. I’m big enough to understand that it was my screw up that put me on the floor, and hey, while I’m there on the ground that’ll give me time to reflect on what I did wrong to end up there. I might even learn quicker than I would if I was having my hands held the whole way through! who knows, right?

I have legit seen a dps do that exact thing. They died, watched the mechanics go out, and ended up saying, “Now I can see it” in chat. And I have done the same exact thing on fights I mess up on. Sometimes it just takes being there and seeing something go down, before it clicks.

Your perception and positive take on things is wonderful to see. I thank you for it. It is appreciated.
