But there’s also an underlying problem that I don’t know how Blizzard will fix - which is that the anima powers seem to act as a multiplier on imbalances between specs.

So… this is incredibly easy to fix. Buff the anima powers that are underperforming. /solved.

I am not certain how good it is going to feel to run Torghast, then have to run open world content

This is a good point. I think it will be okay, but I can understand the concern. Like, at this point I only play League of Legends when the Ultra Rapid Fire mode is going. The game feels slow and boring without it.
