In resto spec. Now that I’ve actually attempted Torghast in resto spec myself, I can authoritatively state that it’s completely unbalanced. After struggling through layer four and barely eeking out a win at the end in elemental spec, I swapped to resto for layer five just to see how it would go. I honestly thought that I had misclicked and picked layer one until I got my reward. The difference was night and day. Mobs that were taking several rounds of my seven-button rotation in elemental spec were going down after a couple of lava bursts in resto spec. In the few instances where the fight stretched longer, I was barely scratched. I think I got down to half health once or twice, and I quickly tossed a couple of heals on myself and carried on. The only fight that presented half a challenge in there was the final boss. I think I had to switch into healing mode three times in that fight before I was able to finish it off with my simplified four-button resto DPS rotation. I shouldn’t be complaining because I’m benefiting tremendously for the time being from being able to do layer 5 at layer 1 difficulty with my resto shaman, but in good conscience, I have to admit that it’s completely unfair to rogues, mages, and warlocks.
I actually really liked Torghast, until floor 6. Personally, struggling through it with my limited available time for hours isn’t fun in the slightest. Soloing anything past floor 5 as a mage is ridiculous and a huge waste of time. Even getting in a group with some of the harder wings is still a huge time drain. Definitely enough stuff to do outside of torghast including the now mandatory 10 mythic+ per week to get a decent piece out of your chest.
Im loving Torghast
I didn’t even care about the fact that there is nothing to gain there besides Soul ash
Its just fun and random
And freaking hard on the later layers
