Torghast Immediate changes needed FAST

As you can see from the general threads today a lot of casual are upset, I agree with every single one of the posts on the matter from the Casuals side.

One thing people may not be seeing with Torghast as well is there’s going to be an IMMEDIATE and IMPOSSIBLE wall for anyone who is not playing this game hardcore coming up within a few weeks (if not already here)

As I was trying to do Torghast this weekend I noticed in the Find a group section there was literally ONLY level 4 and 5 groups forming.

I mean, I just wanted to do level 3… I ended up trying it solo because there were literally NO groups forming for it. and that was almost next to impossible.

Why aren’t groups forming for it? Well… obviously once players get to a certain power level and as weeks progress they are just going to form the higher level groups and that’s IT, anyone in the lower torghast levels literally will not be able to find groups for this.

There needs to be some sort of Match making system in place, or just lower the difficulty for Solo players all together.

I do suggest making your own group if there’s nothing available. They seem to form pretty quickly, but lots of people are leery of doing this for some reason.

I have personally given up on anyone caring. Bunch of elitists just say get gud and don’t even care that a huge amount of sub money will be vanishing.

So whatevs. Will just cancel until 9.1 and see if there are any improvements.

Torghast, Tower of the Damned

  • [With regional restarts] Enemy health increased for healer specializations and enemy physical damage increased for tank specializations. These changes are targeted towards solo players and have a reduced effect while in a group.

  • [With regional restarts] Enemy health and damage increased on floors 2, 4, and 5.

  • [With regional restarts] Dark Ascended Corrus, Warden Skoldus, and Cellblock Sentinel received minor ability adjustments and health tuning to bring them more in line with other bosses.

It’s already getting harder today, sigh.

(I did a couple of 6s on my pally tank solo, deathless but slow as it should be)

Look at the class make ups this expac. I see more hybrids, tanks, healers and pet classes than I have ever seen. In PvE, I see almost no mages or rogues. This is due entirely to the legendary system and the unbalanced difficulty faced in TG by pure dps classes without a pet.

I have been playing actively since vanilla, hardcore and semi-hardcore, and have seen a lot of things that make me scratch my head. Torghast is the worst thing I have seen implemented into the game. Mage Tower was voluntary. Horrific visions were fine, quick runs that could be soloed by any class. The green fire quest for warlocks was brilliant. Torghast is none of these things.

It is long. The door bosses now are dangerous because of the powerful adds that randomly spawn while you are fighting. The final bosses are either easy or impossible, but in both cases have WAY too much health and take WAY too long to kill. If you lose your last life, you have to start over with another 45 minute slog through killing WAY too many adds. All of this is required if you want any legendaries.

I have been a rogue or a mage, predominantly, through out Wow. All of the other mages and rogues in my guild have rerolled. Now I am too. Only because of Torghast.

That’s a stupid fix too. Just because some classes like mine had it difficult or impossible to solo and others didn’t doesn’t mean we wanted it buffed lol.

Those folks are internet heroes that are lying to you. I have done the most challenging solo events/fights/things in the game and TG is just dumb. It would be better if it was 1 extremely challenging boss fight that took all week to complete. But the way it is now swings from mind-numbingly boring to hair-pulling frustrating, with no satisfaction whatsoever.

It’s not just something casuals complain about. Using any metric for the psychology of gaming, TG is terrible game design.

you should be able to solo 3 maybe you are not taking the right power ups. watch a vid on it for your class and try again dont get so defeated that easily

Torghast is intended to be demanding of a players skill set, and gear progression.

It rewards the currency used to buy literally the most powerful equipment of the raid tier, and presumably expansion.

It provides enough self responsibility to actually make the less competent playerbase progress their own personal skill level by learning mob and boss mechanics on their own via trial and error, to show the importance of following mechanics, and using their toolkit.

If you aren’t capable of doing a layer 3, then you need to up your skill level, yes I know it’s rather blunt to say this, but that is what is happening with a lot of the playerbase, the moment anything that requires even the slightest competence shows up, people just get ate by the content.

We saw this in cata, when a huge portion of the playerbase were so incompetent that there was an outcry over the heroic dungeons.

The dungeons were fine, the player base quite literally just needed to git gud.

I enjoy Torghast but as a solo player who doesn’t do mythics, I think I’m stuck at layer 5. I’m 160 on my blood dk and just can’t get any higher. I’m going to keep trying, but I’m not optimistic. First time maining a DK and maybe I’m just not skilled enough.

Need major changes for sure most classes without a pet are having alot of issues. TG Should not be designed this way. Also try and get a group it gets scaled up and the more difficult pulls and bosses damage is insane. All 7 pugs I have tried have failed

You don’t really need to do the higher layers of torghast if you can’t do em right now.

harsh but true. i solo’d 1-6 on both my warrior and hunter, both solely in honor pvp gear(was 170ish at the time). only failed 1 run on my warrior due to really bad anima power rolls but cleared it next attempt.

Torghast isnt that bad solo if you take it slow, play smart, and spec talents accordingly.

Pure DPS classes with low self sustain are having a much harder time with Torghast than any other classes. Maybe it’s less a flaw with the content and more a problem with the class.
