I think there is too much CC and too much self-heal in this games PvP. I leveled in Vanilla as multiple classes and have played PvP since then. Both factions, most classes, all roles. I currently play as a druid (all specs in PvP depending on comp) and a DK (unholy) but have previously played as rogue, warrior, mage, and paladin in PvP.
The CC right now is incredible. Things like spam cyclone as a boomkin or healer is just ridiculous. I could reasonably see one CC effect from each class completely removed or set on a cooldown.
Self-healing is also off the charts with the most notable offender being a fury war. One of my pvp partners is a fury warrior and even still I’ve got no problem saying it’s got to be dialed back. We aren’t 2k, we aren’t even 1800, but I still feel confident in saying that despite our inability to hit high ranks, this is ridiculous. It seems like an obvious failure to address class design to let something like this go live. It feels like fixing a torn MCL by injecting you full of pain killers.
This is anecdotal and only one example. Other weird stuff is seeing a prot paladin or guardian druid outhealing other team healers. It’s as if the devs just gave up on designing proper team utility and just said “ahh whatever just give them tons of heals, let’s get a beer”
Overall the state of PvP right now just feels like they hit a deadline and dumped in a ton of poorly thought out (and lightly tested) changes just to ship something.
Does anyone remember when Blizz never shipped ANYTHING until it was completely polished?
