Too many spells on my priest's bars

Have you tried using bartender?

Play a Demon Hunter.

If you can show me a screen shot on your disc if you take dark angel, light angel, and choose all the additional talented spells and can place them on all your lower bars, with also binding potions, health rocks and 1 mount…then you’ll change my mind.

I just linked you my Druid who is way more binding intensive.

Priest has less utility than Druid does.

I had 94 binds on my rogue in Cata

I used to really enjoy having a fair number of spells that I could macro with each other for ease of play with only a minor dps loss.

Now I can hardly macro anything together and any macro is considered a dps sin. I’m now juggling more spells then I can fit on my main bars and everything requires babysitting.
Sure some people can do that just fine but I actually want to view the game and not just a dashboard.

This is a feral druid. Not the same as boomy, solar beam, typhoon, vortex, mass entanglement. Etc Plus your rotation of starsurge etc.

It gets crazy. But… disc priest has significantly more bindings in Shadow Lands. In BFA it was perfect. Not has too many to bind. Have to swop out 2-3 spells if you are going from PVP to PVE on your bars. There is no place for them.

Solar beam versus skull bash and focus skull bash
1 boomy 2 feral.

Skull bash and mass entanglement share the same bind and swap when I swap them.

Trust me boomkin is easier to bind.
It doesn’t juggle tigers fury

Feral uses moon fire as well.

doesn’t that just move the blocks not add more?

Bartender can add upwards of 10 total action bars with 12 blocks each.

It also lets you adjust size and different patterns like squares or rectangle as well as the single bar.

In the ss that is three total bars. Two rows of 12 blocks on top of each other and a third one of 12 blocks in a row of 6.

To require an add on to bind a spell or to create a macro to use the same button for 2 spells…

Well, you actually just defined why this complicated array of spells and abilities makes this game inaccessible to new players and is causing our mass player attrition.

If we can’t take a casual into more dynamic game play the population of players will slowly dwindle.

If the game is too complicated to deduce through observation and logic than the barrier to gameplay is too difficult.

A class should not required more than several ability buttons to play, and thus why final fantasy is crushing us. TBC/wrath was the an example of the max inputs required to enjoy a game. The rest of the game should be about learning, player growth, achievements, avoiding mechanics and enhancing your character.

Hope blizzard understands why this is soo important.

What addon are you talking about is required? You can easily use a button mod like shift control or alt in the game menu to cast on focus or yourself.

Stop trying to hide behind the term casual as it clearly doesn’t mean what you think it means.

Arena and mplus are very casual friendly because it’s less scheduling.

If the game is too complicated for you doesn’t mean it’s too complicated for others.

The game is less keybind if intensive now than it was outside of the pruning.

rather not
I like having more to do, not less

PI is pretty straightforward anyways
if your dps hit a marginal breakpoint with it, they get it
otherwise the highest DPS gets it

Please don’t change it. I have enough room for my spells. I like having a choice on what to use.

He literally said Priests in the title…

Pruning has never been well received? What about the class designed around the idea that quickly became one of the top three played classes in the game? Everyone claims to want overt complexity until they see what minimalism can accomplish.

Should give us more spells imo.

In a way that gives us options but doesn’t force every spell to be necessary.

Take them off your bar or play something else.

If people are being toxic about it, just give it to yourself. Nothing more satisfying than knowing their faces are red with rage because of no infuse.

I’ve played and won games in the 2.4k to 2.6kMMR+ range on my priest. It’s not too complicated for me personally, but I’m an international tournament winning gamer (not in WoW because I play WoW casually).

But in WoW I often speak with people and when they don’t have what I called a “required to play spell” on their bars for their character, the answer will be and in short, “there is no room, and thus I’m not taking that talent.”

And TBH, when I came back to my priest in shadowlands I looked at all these new spells and abilities with the mindset of “why?” Disc priest was fun in BFA, why did they have to over complicate it with too many spell choices. Was mind blast even needed? 100% No. They could have changed smite so that every 4th smite deals more dmg, and it would have shown as a power up on the players screen and that would have been more fun to play around.

Too many choices create a feeling of being overwhelmed. You have grown with this game, as I have, but new players, especially if they boost they will feel that they have too many spell choices and can’t easily decide what to press. Warcraftlogs shows this skill cap. Its clear. People blame output and wrong power choices, which is part of it but not always a factor. My argument isn’t a matter of opinion. There is undeniable proof that there are too many spells and abilities for classes because there is too much variation in player DPS output and hurdles in both raiding and PVP, which stem from flaws in their rotation and defensive choices. And thus those players seem to stop raiding or quit PVE at a certain level. This is a barrier to entry… That other MMORPGs, currently beating WoW, don’t have.

My only thought is that blizzard decided to appease the long term players with the request of adding more archaic spells into the game in Shadowlands as they saw deeper revenue from those players purchasing every store mount, maintaining subs etc. But this is short cited. Due to the demographics of those players they will naturally have attrition over time. And if WoW doesn’t attract new players, which it can easily do, it will continue to dwindle.

WoW’s new expansion sales have been amazing but every time the fall off is massive. My opinion is that because the skill cap/barrier to entry in order to be competitive is too high. The learning curve of rental powers is too intense. The game can’t only be amount mount collection.

I had a similar complaint about Wind walker monks, and blizzard did a lot to improve that class in shadowlands but they hurt others.

Yet you don’t have an achievement over 2200.

Sure thing. Totally believe that :joy::lying_face:

Then that’s their personal issue.
