You all keep complaining about the use of “3rd party software”, but don’t you all use an addon to automatically manage your interactions with the AH? That sounds more like botting to me than someone using /follow on another account.
And the software to make that happen counts as automation. So its like botting.
This going ignored is so telling but please tell me more about automation.
Engineering ingenuity. Beautiful!
if automation = botting I expect a GIGANTIC bandwave to occur, 99% of the playerbase will get banned because of their addons lol
I don’t like macro’s either, I don’t use them, but one battle at a time please.
Well especially those people using auctioneer. DBM isn’t even allowed to tell you where to stand anymore so why should an addon be allowed that tells people AH prices and their history?
bro come on
What’s the software, and why has Blizzard allowed it since Vanilla.
Technically, addons that just assist or advise you aren’t automation, while addons that directly do stuff for you are. DPS checking addon wouldn’t really count for example.
But it really is part of the battle. You think the world first raiders aren’t using macros?
The difference between bots and boxers is, a bot is run by a program. No player needed at the keyboard. A boxer requires someone to be active at the keyboard and that is why it’s allowed.
Not accurate at all. There was a guy that used to multibox around the Tarren Mill, Southshore quest areas, and gank people questing there. This was in 2005. Instead of running to the forums whining, and crying about it, folks would just shout out in gen, trade chat, and high level players would show up, and take care of him. They would graveyard, and corpse camp his toons until he either nerd raged logged, or hearthed his toons out. Some of those people would park their characters in the area just to see, if the guy boxing would return, or log back into game. The boxer was easy honor for everyone lol.
How do you figure that? If I go to buy a bank slot for example, you know how it pops up asking if I’m sure I want to buy it? I don’t click that anymore, it gets accepted automatically. What is your definition of automation where that doesn’t count as being automated?
Is it really “setting a precedent” if multiboxing has been allowed since day 1?
Not that I would but one could make an argument that DBM is cheating during a boss fight. That mouse over healing is cheating.
Imagine if some one could clone them selves irl, work 15 jobs at once, and keep all the money their clones make. Would that be fair? Would you want to compete with those clones in the job market? Would you want the job market depleted by said clones?
That’s a good example for what multiboxing is and does to the WoW economy.
Maybe if you spent less time complaining on the forums you might have more gold OP but blame whatever you can to make excuses I guess.
Ah yes the old “work harder” shtick. The same kind of attitude that led to all your manufacturing jobs going overseas.
Work hard as you might, you can’t outcompete low wage workers in third world countries, robots, algorithms, or multiboxers.
You mean like downsizing? Or factory automation? Why aren’t iPhones prices dropping then?
Do you really need an explanation or do you think you can figure this one out? I am fully confident that you can, you got this far in life so…
