Today was birren by a snake at work like 10 minutes ago

Vibing is a snake’s full-time occupation lol. They’re about the lowest maintenance pet you can have.

Chuck Norris was once bitten by a king cobra. After 3 days of pain and agony, the snake died.

Snakes are only cool if they can turn into James Earl Jones, and vice versa.

I will contemplate this…on the Tree of Woe.

Way beyond my scope of practice, but scientists have been studying the correlation of snake venom and how it binds to GABA receptors on nerve cells. Certain specific snake venoms cause permanent convulsions.

It’s been used in ancient medicine, but the underlying method of action is understood in less 1% of cases. Obviously, medical professionals want to narrow that down to a solid therapeutic level.

The FDA has derived some synthetic variations of snake venom components to make medicines like Enalapril (a paramedic drug we use) as ACE inhibitor for hypertension used in conjunction with a diuretic. Lowering pressures can prevent seizures.

I don’t know if consistent treatment has ever developed for long term use. Again, outside my pay grade, but venom is mostly been used in mice to figure out the overall pathophysiological interactions for seizures and schizophrenia.

Something a neurobiologist would better answer.

Glad Barrens chat is alive and well.

OP, I hope you’re ok!

Well now you’re just making me think of those sneaky shaman hiding in bushes with a random Sentry totem sitting on the road in low level zones baiting in noobs to hit it. Or hunters that would tame local beast quest mobs like elwynn boars, hide and use Eyes of the Beast to make their pet imitate one of those random quest mobs.

Great for using on stealth characters, plus they had snares. So basically just for pvp

So why is someone’s first reaction to getting bit by a snake: “Oh I should totally talk about this totally everyday thing that’s not a risk to my life by talking to internet strangers in a videogame forum. That’s the way!”

Tell us after you’ve gone and gotten help. Lol. This is kind of crazy.

Huzzah! I was getting worried. Glad to hear you’re okay.

If nothing else, getting the snake specimen with you to the hospital eliminates the headaches of what level of care is needed.

That’s something people often don’t do. Obviously it’s a snake and people aren’t going to retrieve it let alone find it again

Daw what a cutie patootie. I don’t blame you for checking since folks tend to think “oh black snake. like those ridiculously venomous black mamba? nope not risking it”

Some people understand the importance of live entertainment. And they brought it to the forum. That’s talent.

Was following along here and glad to hear you’re going to be fine.

Thank goodness! I am glad that you are okay! :snake:

I’m guessing they got bit and had to go to the doctor/ER, and probably had some time to kill. So, they probably posted about it here from their phone. If it’s a true story, that is.
