To whoever thinks no sharding at launch is good

yah if the servers don’t crash it won’t be authentic!

Also after loading back in I have to be back on the boat.

and the boat needs to be under Stonetalon Mountains.

People are also way overestimating AQ events tbh. Go and look at authentic AQ events on youtube from back in the day. It’s nothing like they make it sound.

Lol no we are not, massive lag and server crashed more than once, Also watch the LFG documentary and listen to the Network guy talk about and Afrasabi too, it was pretty bad.

What’s the problem? In a couple of days people will be laughing at how insanely packed the zones were and well on their way to leveling up and exploring the game.

You can either look at it in a negative light, or look at it as part of the overall experience of what it’s like to level up in a brand new massively multiplayer online game… There are going to be a crap tonne of people starting with you, and that’s great. Make some friends, group with some people, do some RP - just have fun with it.

They’re not. I’ve only seen 1 person say it, but I have seen 1 person say they’d be alright with sharding for the first month or two.

Did that happen to you that night? Heck, ive gotten put in random GYs this expansion even, lol.

I’m talking about the density of the players. People made it sound like literally every person on the server was there when in reality it was more like 200-300

You can pretty much ignore him. He’s an alt of some druid that was driven off of/banned from the forums… You can tell by his " instant gratification, convenience oriented mindset " comments.

It’s safe to take nothing he says seriously. He’s trolling. (Ratsmats was his name)

Launch is an event. It only happens 1 time. This might last a week but will quickly die down(or should i say people will apread out over levels/places). If people dont want to deal with it then please just dont log in for a few days. If servers arent crashing constantly i think its fine.

Also there are so many options on how to deal with this situation to level up.

  1. Try taging mobs solo (instant range casts work well but wont be guaranteed).
  2. Group up.
  3. Group up and leave starting 1-5 zone (5 level 1s can beat the mobs outside of the starting area. Once your all level 2 it gets even easier.
  4. Explore for exp/gather flight paths. This will save you time down the road.
  5. Once you get like 2 silver you can start gathering peofessions.
6.make characters for later rested exp.
  6. 40 man level 1 hogger raid.
  7. Everything else im not mentioning.

People who dont enjoy unsharded launch should just wait. Its truely the better solution then sharding even just for launch.

People who don’t enjoy a sharded launch should just wait. It’s truly the best solution than having a completely unplayable launch.

You’re absolutely right. The damage that would be done to Classic by sacrificing the truer Classic experience and the community in order to cater to those who are unable to handle competition due to an instant gratification, convenience oriented mindset by introducing the cancer of sharding is meaningless. What is important is that the tourists have an unfettered few minuted before they leave the game.

oh no it was waaaaaaaaaaaay more than that, people would drag level 1s , well low level since you probably level by the time you got there, seriously i could youtube link the LFG documentary, but its just as easy to search for it there.

That’s what I am talking about though. It’s not as much as you might remember it being

yah it was, trust me, lag and server crashes were the order of the night, lost out on getting a giant bug kill due to one :O(

I don’t think they ever even stated the levels or zones for the sharding experience, what you may take as early levels and starter zones could be different than what you might think they are.

Once again, I know there was lag, but there the events themselves did not have thousands of people there at a time.

Here is the video you are referring to btw

Except vanillas fan base wants an authentic as possible game play. That would include no sharding

You say this but Blizzard is going to want as much people playing the game. QoL mechanics will help with that.

Good thing Classic isn’t Vanilla (it’s a Vanilla-like experience), so the playerbase will be different.
