After all these years it never ceases to surprise me how people will twist themselves into pretzels to avoid placing the blame on Blizzard. Blizzard are the curators of this game, it is their responsibility to maintain server health, not the masses of players.
Even Sulfuras, one of the designated free transfer realms, is at “full” capacity. When Sulfuras is hit with long queues, will it be the fault of the people who "just transfer"ed? Knowing the quality of posters on these forums, the answers will likely be yes.
For as long as these forums exist, there will be people who are eager to smug post about how the problems other people are having are their fault, and they are superior for not being afflicted by it.
Talking to these people is a waste of time tbh.
Their brains just can’t comprehend how a paid service should be like.
Imagine being an outsider looking in, if I saw a company offering people to play their game for monthly fee, you would expect as a new player to be able to just jump in and play, but then find out that on most servers, not just Bene, you have to wait on average 5 hours to even just begin to play, like what? How do you defend that? Especially from a game thats been around for nearly 20 years.
Please read my initial post for my answer to your question.
On top of moving an entire guild (half of who cannot even log in to clear their mail / get things in order to transfer) being an absolute community nightmare to get in order, what about players who boosted new toons to main swap to? That’s “their fault”? Give me a break.
Discord: @everyone Hey guys, in light of the excessive queue times to log on to the server, the guild admins have been discussing and we have decided to migrate to [x server], in order for a much smoother experience playing the game. To give people time to prepare, the “official” move will not take place until [x date], so if you intend to stick with us make sure you get with who you can when you can to find out what you should do to prepare.
For those who don’t have time to sit in queue to clear their mailboxes, submit a ticket directly to Blizzard. They should be able to get you sorted and moved without incident.
Hope to see you all on [x server]!
What about them? Like, genuine question, I don’t actually know, can boosted characters not take the free transfer or something?
Nearly every guild I have seen transfer had fallen apart very quickly. Even AOTC guilds. You all can risk it, doesn’t seem worth it to me. Just double down and live with the queue. Let the casuals get mad and quit out of frustration. Moving an entire guild is a bad idea, you will lose key players whom will refuse to leave where they have been since the beginning to go to a ticking time bomb of a server that WILL die.
Comparing FF to WoW, interesting. It’s a good amount of servers bruv. Even the fresh server that’s basically FOR new players or players looking to restart has a que lmao
If anything, the queues make me much more productive. It actually makes me get up and do things. Not to mention, these queues really aren’t that bad. Yes, they’re long but I’ve encountered worse.
I guess I just can’t comprehend the idea of a guild being a contracted job instead of a group of friends. Maybe that’s just where the confusion is on my part, but eh, if people are willing to sit in the queues until things calm down they’ve got my support
I agree this is what we chose. I chose to play on Benediction and thus, I pay the consequence. While it might be a pain in the *** to wait in the queues for hours, I just know if I feel bored or really impatient I can always transfer.
To be quite honest, I did expect it. We’ve seen queues like this before. Not quite to this degree but we’ve seen queues in the thousands, and the population has only grown since then. It’s not fun, nor ideal to be sitting in queue and I understand how frustrating it is to be paying for a game that they can’t even access, but I’m the one that choose to stick around. So, I feel I have to take responsibility here for the choice I made.
have you seen me say crap about people who play on those servers? if so when. Or are you creating an artificial argument for me then rebutting it poorly? when i rolled on bene it wasnt a mega sever. the only mega servers at the time was herod and fearlina. again now why should i have to leave the server ive been on since the start of classic and have a ton of friends at just because blizzard decided to get money hungry
