I will dungeon level. level 60 hit…unless I really need the calling money I can not do dungeon and be happy. Why?
Crap drops…I leave these making almost no money or any reward. 5 boss ToP runs, not one drop. even on dungeon bonus week where last boss has 2 items. I get neither. Not thrilling times to me.
“fun” people. Mega pulling tank who then rages dps is too slow. Its normal/heroic dude…please keep the mythic power pulls to, well, mythic.
I get my social on in pvp. Where even a loss…gets me honor points. Points closer to gear/upgrade.
Even 5 losses in epic at 300 points per is 1500 points. Its buying something from the pvp vendor.
I have run 5 dungeons straight I only built up to 1 thing. Aggravation lol.
Maybe, and I’m just putting this out there, it’s because of all the people who will kick you from a 5 man for not understanding skips, etc, that the average player has no business knowing but if you don’t, kick.
Debilitating social anxiety, perhaps? I don’t know. It’s odd to me that people who avoid group content play an MMO of all things when you’ve got stuff like modded Skyrim or whatever other solo experience.
I can tell you as someone who’s hardly social in this game and currently has no one to play with so am by default solo, that it just isn’t the same. I couldn’t get out of the tutorial in Skyrim and even if I did it’s still more or less on rails with a beginning and an end. MMO’s don’t have an end, and so are worth playing to me even if I hardly interact with the other players.
I can’t stress enough that even solo this is so much better than a linear single player game.
I haven’t had to do that for awhile now .Last one I did any of that on was my first 60 in SL.
Haven’t had to do a dungeon yet since then to progress with campaign.
I’m not going to sit through the dungeons again on a sever full of others I am leveling for various reasons.
Why play solo? Simply because I can if I choose to.
Why do you care how others choose to spend their time in game? This is the issue with WoW players and the brainrot this game gives you, dungeons and raids are not and should not bethe only content in game lmao.
It can be like an easier version of Diablo…or any arpg
Diablo leads to increasing pain. You beat normal. Yay! Nownext run, with more pain. Some like that. Some don’t.
Wow you get your 60 and you have many expacs of raid/dungeon to get your kill and loot for pants on in legacy. with that wrath raid that needs WG control to enter…it still has goodies for me to find. i can’t power spam that. Some classes are 1 side only. So I can only catch that when their faction owns it.
Wow vs skyrim offers in game chat. I have guilded chars I am there for the chat. They go for 10/10 type stuff, I say well good luck boys and girls and shoot the crap with the people not in the run.
Well that and as a mod author, very new amatuer one a that, I find I don’t play skyrim. I…spend time testing and tweaking and looking for that next idea. Not done before. As I try to avoid YAM (yet another mod). Which on skyrim or even fallout 4…gets hard. Now when starfield comes outs I will jump on that day 1. There I will start early on mod creation.
Burns you out as you play across several test saves. I like many make save points. Test mod(s) at varying points. If game changes areas…does your mod work in the before and after and not break the game. For either.
The value to wow is I can’t change a damn thing. I just play it. Where as in skyrim I can, and have, paused the game, fired up creation kit and go something just irked me or gave me an idea…lets see what ck says is going on here. Maybe I can make it better.
I guess what’s odd to me is that some people assume that playing WoW and not doing dungeons is indeed a Solo experience. It really isn’t. Making pugs is fun for WQ’s. Running around with people on the same daily’s. Idk. I don’t think I’d like a specifically “Solo” game. It sounds lonely.
I’m a soloer and I’ve PUGGed dungeons in the past - well over a hundred in Legion alone with all the class hall and profession stuff - and I have rarely enjoyed the experience. At this point in my WoW life, I’m just way the hell over it and I leave it to people who do like it.
It is lonely,I got two people on my list of favorites ,one’s my bro the other i met two months ago .Guess which one i talk to the most and the one not talking at all.
Dungeons used to be fun before they all became a race. It used to be that they were part of the adventure but now they’re almost like a separate game within a game where you feel like you’re just another NPC.
I agree that people talk way less nowadays, and I agree that it is rare to start hitting a wall with a pug and everyone just comes together to work it out. Annecdotally, I HAVE had that happen in Legion, BfA and SL.
I dunno though if that change in climate as you put it (which I agree with btw) is due to the dungeon design (M+, timers, esport friendly encounter design) or something else. I think it’s something else, personally. I do think the dungeon design does feed into it, exacerbates it, but I don’t think it’s the cause.
