To people who refuse to do dungeons, even normal…why?

Probably not, in fact it would probably have the opposite effect, people would see a person is new and knowing this community, more often than not would probably kick them so as to not waste their precious time. Now some would gladly be patient and help, but I just feel like the majority of this community wouldn’t.

Honestly, the only way I could see people actually helping in that way is if Blizz gives an incentive to help.

This is the attitude that really gets me fired up. It is not everyone else’s responsibility to hold your (collective you) hand through any content. You have the same exact access to all of the youtube videos, discord channels, websites, addons that everyone else has. And before the people whine about ingame tools, we all have a dungeon journal. Do some looking into it before jumping in so it isn’t the first time you lay eyes on it. Do you have to be a pro before ever queueing? Of course not, not even close. Should you say “hey gang this is my first time here”? Yes, definitely. Are people going to be dbags anyway no matter what you do? Of course they will. But this whole attempt to make it seem like that’s the norm is just tired. It’s going to happen, probably more than once. But if you can’t even take a few minutes to hold up your end and not go into something expecting the group to literally be your training wheels, why should they waste any time on you?

First, I’m just going to assume that you didn’t read anything that I wrote. I am literally trying to HELP people that want to enjoy the game a different way than you do. I get it, foreign concept in WoW and all… but believe it or not, a big part of this game used to be all about helping other people.

People like you prove my point every day. No one is asking for hand holding. No one is asking to “hold up while I watch this video on YouTube”. No one is asking anything EXCEPT to not be kicked for sub-par DPS, or struggling to keep up with a group because the group refuses to even wait for an under-geared healer to get mana. YES, that is still a thing… because regardless of how ELITE someone thinks they are, they still do DUMB things… and when their healer’s biggest heal is barely touching 5% of that person’s health the stress levels probably rise, wouldn’t you agree?

And to be clear, some of us have lives… jobs… families - all OUTSIDE of this game. This may be an alien concept to some, but it’s not a myth or fantasy… it’s called real life.

These kind of comments don’t help the situation at all. Instead of dismissing the replies to the OP’s comment from many people that explained why they don’t like that play-style, how about you not comment and just move on? If you aren’t willing to attempt to make the community better for everyone, including these people that are struggling, just go do some timed M+'s and stay off the forums.

Wow, that makes signing up for a dungeon sound incredibly enticing, but I think I’ll pass.

Because I want to pvp and hate being forced to pve to be optimal (memory). Locking essential items like memories behind content and then not making them a 100% drop rate shows how little respect Blizzard has for our time. I’d love to be pvp’ing right now but instead i’m farming a stupid memory for the 6th time, and then I need to do choreghast to actually make it… THANKS BLIZZ, wouldn’t want to you know, be doing the thing I actually enjoy in game or anything.

Not to bash you, but you are speaking from your experience and skill. As someone with ADD, this is definitely not the case for everyone. Even being carried through older Legion dungeons by a guildmate (to help my lower level toon do the mandatory dungeon quests) it took more than two runs for me to know the dungeon well enough to be comfortable with them.

So take into account, please, everyone is different in skill, learning ability and other things in their lives.

Because they’re not fun for me. Just about every dungeon has turned into a hallway full of trash and then a boss fight. Such creativity, so much fun…

We’re one step away from having FF14’s dungeons where they’re literally hallways.

This really does sum it up.

I promise you, there are way more people that want to play at a relaxed place judging by my friend requests from this post alone. The problem is, you people beat them into submission, so they just stop talking about it.

The problem isn’t the ones that want to slow things down, the problem is the - as you colorfully put it - “dbags” that think this type of behavior is acceptable.

One thing I know for sure is this: the ones of you that were never taught respect by a firm hand growing up stick out like a sore thumb. I hope you never run into the wrong person in the real world, because it truly will end badly for you if you bring this type of attitude out of your momma’s basement.

Since vanilla I have only experience the following twice in a LFG run.

Once we are all instanced in then they huddle and did not do a darn thing just sitting there no pulling anything. Tank told me to leave if I did not like it.

Just weird.

If there ever is a post I agree with, it’s the very first one.

I’m 74, and have been playing WoW since 2 months before TBC was released. Back then , players were nice to each other and didn’t mind helping (and instructing nicely in dungeons). I ran dungeons and battlegrounds every minute I could play.

Now that I’m older, I have some medical issues. These days, I would run a dungeon with guildies, but PUGs, you couldn’t pay me to do one.

This is the nostalgia most of us are still looking for that fell off of the bus while it was going down the road on the way to this train wreck that the game has become.

  • Crap content? Not happy… but, I can deal with it.
  • Story lines and arcs that are just like… wait, what-in-the-AF did I just hear/read? Not happy… but, I can deal with it.
  • Content drought? Not happy… but, I can deal with it.
  • Forced to play a certain way due to progressing a character? Not happy… but, I can deal with it.

The one thing that I utterly refuse to deal with is spoiled, entitled brats that think that being a literal douche nozzle is a way of life that they should desperately strive for - maybe because they are so screwed up in real life that putting others down in a game gives them some sort of temporary feeling of superiority. If that’s the case, all the Mythic keys in the world aren’t going to fill that void. How about instead of acting like a jerk, just try being a decent human being?

Dungeons are fine with me, where it gets stale is constantly doing the same dungeons for mythic plus each week…

I like mythic plus idea, I just wish they would swap up the dungeons a bit each season as well… give the bosses different mechanics for example.

The affixes just don’t do it for me

I can tolerate them. I’m not a fan of them, and I understand having to run the current Expansion’s content, but once you receive KSM for that season I think it would be nice if they would allow an option to have Keystones work for any Dungeon.

With how Timewalking functions, why couldn’t they throw every single Dungeon in the pool? Maybe even give people an option for specific Expansions if need be and the demand were high enough.

I like dungeons. I just refuse to do the same dungeons week after week, over and over. Thankfully the timeworn keys have added some variety.

Well you know what they say about assuming…

Actually a lot of people are and to deny that would be willfully ignorant.

So let them die. You can’t cotrol what other people do, but no, stress shouldn’t be a factor.

Oh god, this weak tired crap. By some of us you mean almost all of us. Stop pretending you’re some unicorn for having a life. Time management is a thing.

How about you do the same. You didn’t have to speak to me.

You don’t know me. I guess judging everyone while telling everyone not to judge you is the hip thing these days.

Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t know “there are jerks in the world and some of them have internet connections” was breaking news to you.

No, it isn’t. It’s the ones that want to force their pace on everyone in their group while claiming victim of group forcing pace on them without any hint of irony.

Lmfao! Did you really just go there? Dang, that’s a whole heap of judging, and ASSumptions. Hope you didn’t hurt yourself. The best part is the whole threat of running into an imaginary boogeyman that’d just put me right in my place, with the obligatory “momma’s basement” line. This is about as sad and pathetic as it gets, toughguy.

Yes, you’re right… it is sad and pathetic that you had to break down my post and quote multiple people to try and get your viewpoint across that this type of behavior is not only acceptable, but everyone should just be okay with it.

Muppet.

I agree that older dungeons were more fun. However, in my memory dungeons as far back as Wrath had 1 or two “wipe spots” on the trash that were designed to keep you awake. When you got to these spots you would have to stop and do some CC or LOS or you’d wipe. I can still see many of these spots in my mind.

It isn’t news at all, and you’ve done an excellent job of being an example of the type of person I try to avoid in games and life in general.

Have a wonderful day Sparky!

This 100%. I feel panic when I have to group for a dungeon or raid. I also fear screwing up mechanics and I get LOST ALL THE TIME. I have been in a few dungeons where I died or got lost and never found my way back. I had my loot mailed to me, but they could see (if they looked) that I was trying to find my way using the map. They just flew through the dungeon and never looked back. Obviously I didn’t make a difference in the dps.

I was going to have my monk go with Kyrian, but when I got to the progression part requiring the dungeon, I just changed to Night Fae instead… probably a bad choice for dps, but being casual I really didn’t mind.

Wow didn’t take long for you to hit rock bottom and start trying to attack the way I’m posting. At least I’m addressing your points. I find your method of ignore and insult beneath me.

Or you could grow up and not tantrum just cuz someone hurt your fee fees on the internet.

Does name calling make you feel like a big man? Or have you convinced yourself that youre right and I’m the “bad guy” so you can act however you want? Either way, pretty childish thinking.

You seemed surprised.

Same. Guess we both learned something today.

Hey you too Chuckles! Always great seeing all the people that claim the community is toxic while in the next breath insulting and name calling. At least we can all agree the game does indeed have a cancer that needs removing…
