High ilvl =|= bis
you can pug keys, pugging mythic or rbgs is an exercise in futility
Are we calling BIS absolute bis or just 2 items with the right stats at 447?
We literally have 8 447 items with whatever stats we want, and in the case of rings free sockets.
Show your work.
BiS doesn’t matter. Reallocating ~20% of your secondary stats is never going to be a bigger performance boost than playing a strategy more optimally, such as bigger pulls.
Plus, virtually no one has a definitive BiS list backed up by sims. Wanna know why? Because your BiS changes to the environment. This is also why StatWeights died – information for the masses became readily accessible via raidbots, so less knowledgeable players now have access to high-level tools and information. But as your post shows, many players don’t understand the theorycrafting behind BiS profiles.
Players want to be “done” gearing. BiS is fine to chase, but it’s not a big deal. Most of WoW’s content is easy enough that 99.9% can achieve their progression goals without BiS.
The only chase pieces in M+ are trinkets and items with unique effects (like the Underrot Fist Weapon).
This season is ridiculously easy to get in because you can just craft 447’s in almost every slot and it’ll be better than all but a couple slots if you’re clearing Mythic Nelth/Sarth which drop 450.
It also clearly assumes heroic raid, which is a full difficulty below BiS and doesn’t even provide aspect crests.
Wait what? U can craft 447 gear? How do u get the 447 slot material tho?

How do u get the 447 slot material tho?
enchanted aspects crests.
crafted by an enchanter via work order for enchanting mats, 2 dracothyst, and 4 aspect crests.
Appreciate it ty!!
You have to have perfect rolls in the vault for 16 weeks straight to obtain the best items you can get for M+.
And they all do significantly less damage than 437 Beacon to the Beyond and significantly less healing than 437 Rashok’s Molten Heart
What if their goal is BiS?
Full bis?
I don’t think I’ve had full bis since like MoP. Maybe not even then.
Do people really think about this?
They get crafted pretty quickly via public work orders as long as the commission/mats combo is enough that the crafter doesn’t take a loss.

wait are we pretending that m+ is a loot desert again?
Getting a specific piece does suck in m+. I had 200 runs in workshop/junkyard to get the ring combo in season 4 and still ended up getting one of those rings from the vault.
This is also someone who hasn’t caught on that the concept of a bis list is pretty much dead, and has been for about 10 years.
Getting specific items in M+ sucks, and it sucks way more than it should because when you run the math the actual odds / requirement of investment to reach reasonable odds is way too high, but the crest system combined with crafting has meant raid is just for tier until catalyst and cantrips unless you’re able to have the last 2 bosses on farm for months.
Some specific loot targeting coming online mod season would be nice for a piece or two
My blood dk needed gloves from neltharus and the trinket from NL. I chain ran neltharus and only got the gloves cause someone traded them
I am still chain running NL as frost loot spec and have yet to get the NL dagrul trinket. I try to run it once a day and its been like 3 weeks lol. Im bored of NL
But time played metrics i guess
You know I never understood the drive to get full BiS unless you’re trying to push absurdly high keys or mythic raid at a competitive level.
For me personally, it just sounds unfun. Like you pour so much work into a patch and it’s all gone next patch and you have to do it all over again.
Not judging but is there a reason to gun for BiS outside of internet points? You can do most content without BiS, even +20s

Getting specific items in M+ sucks
But with group stack shenanigans, you can greatly increase the odds of getting certain M+ items, especially if the members you’re stacking are friends who can trade it to you.
And comparing unstacked no trade M+ to free-roll raid, to equal the odds you need 8 or fewer people rolling on a non-very rare item, so you probably have a higher chance of getting dice from any random FH than essence from a pug kill of experiments .

For a raider: prob about 12-14 raids.
Maybe if you are buying mythic raid carries with loot feeds. Just as an example, I have probably about 30 sark kills and I still don’t have my BIS cloak. Keeping in mind that most raiders are probably going to go thru the tiers, it will be well more than your estimate for them to get BIS.

For a pvp’r : prob about 50 rbgs.
I think you really have never geared up to BIS in rated PvP if you think that is even close.
You seem to not actually understand the concept of BIS…
