People usually make sure noone need it as main spec before they roll for off spec gear.
But now it will be people taking gear because bost specs are their main spec.
Stop trying to hand wave away every downside of dual spec to try and act like there is no downsides.

What did we see when dual spec was added? Warriors and Pallies tanking dungeons in dps gear for instant queues rolling on DPS gear.
Gee I wonder if that’ll impact my gameplay experience.

Sure, if you’re unable to use the inspect function. I think you probably know how, although I could be wrong.
Assuming this company even lasts until then. I think new world is going to pilfer a lot of players.
Dual spec is amazing in retail. But I think not ideal in classic.
Dual speccing effectively removes hybrids from spending time in the game to gather/kill mobs/do dailies, which reduces overall supply in the economy for AH. In retail, this doesn’t matter, because there is so much gold around and so many ppl farming mats to pay for their game time/wow token. But in classic the gathering economy is more fragile.
It also disincentives players to explore second classes/alts, because they could just roll a pally/druid and have it all, which takes players out of the levelling/dungeon pool.
Creating dual spec would allow for a larger tank/healer pool in heroics, and, once they are geared, will make the 50g tank heroic runs more competitively priced.
Adding dual spec removes diversity in pvp. If the games seem bad now, it will be much worse with dual spec. Only arms warriors, SL/SL locks, resto druids, frost mages. No easier matchups or enjoying the feeling of beating others with a less competitive spec. Some players will go for the niche/hipster options, but most will go for S-tier.
So while convenient for the player, I think is probably overall worse for the system as a whole.

So to add my 2c in here, I spend between 150-200g weekly to spec for raids and to grind money, I do my heroics if I can in holy on the days we raid, and then I try to solo on my “offdays” currently I am having trouble making the money needed for raid consumables, and ssc / tk will only make that worse. I am a holy priest. Active, run content. I am burning out due to the constant gold grind. I dont have epic flying. I am paying a MASSIVE tax just to be a healer, and on top of that penalized even more if I have the audacity to try and solo. Make it have a day cooldown, make it so you can only do it once a week, whatever. But making 1 or 2 classes pay the entire “gold sink” is killing those players, not saving the game. Hell make it so the fee comes out of the guild bank, whatever. Or each guild gets a limited number per week say 5? that the healers or tanks can use as the guild needs. We can find a medium ground and considering the die off in players this is a last stand being made for a game that might not survive the purists vision of how things need to be.
Easy solution, ask your guild for some gold for the respecs.
If your guild won’t help you pay for it, then move to a different guild.
Guilds should be making a boatload of gold selling all the DE’d mats from epics right now, there’s no excuse.
Void crystals go for sub 10g on my server, what money. lol.
The common etiquette is you roll on gear for the role you are there for. Dual spec doesn’t change that, stop trying to invent problems that have nothing to do with dual spec.

Wrong expansion bucko. You can pick and choose who you group with. Nice try though. Getting desperate on trying to find a reason to complain about how dual spec is bad.
Sure, but to have any reasonable chance of success you’d have to garner sufficient support from the players. Dual spec seems to have that support and your suggestion is unlikely to get it. But you’re free to start a thread and try.

Dual spec really doesn’t have the backing you think it does. You’re in fantasy land.
At BEST it’s 50% of people on the boards that want it, you would need 80%+ of the entire player base to really have a case for it.
Wrong. Every poll taken shows its 80% wanting dual spec.
