Look at the RAF explorer mog. Would have been BALLER to just unlock that via no-lifing archeology.
Instead, archeology isn’t even getting anything added in SL, but if you spend a hefty sum, you get a unique appearance.
The game is poorer for it.
There could have been some cool quest chain or something in Ardenweald, maybe even tying back to Val’sharah, to unlock the sprite darter’s wings thing by playing the game.
Instead, nope - just buy it.

We pay $15/mo and expansions every year? Pretty soon content updates are going to cost $30 and re-named DLC…

The game needs money to continue. Subs have decreased so instead of raising the sub price, they do the store.
As long as there’s still options to choose from in the barbershop, etc… then it’s just an additional thing people who have the money and want it, can get it.
It helps the game continue. That may become problematic if SLs is a bust, though.
again, youre just thinking that but until then having a few tmog available in the shop is fine and yes they put a lot of effort in that tmog but its still possible to get an equally good looking set through playing the game, just like store mounts
To me that’s a lot of money for just a tmog. I use fake money in ESO to buy tmogs and I’d say the max I would pay is about $7 in their currency. Even then, I’m not using my money - they give me a currency to buy stuff like this in exchange for being a customer.
That said, I can buy items used for crafting and other in-game needs in the ESO shop and I think the idea of that coming to WoW is what bother’s people the most. So if I want my mount to go faster in ESO? I just buy some mats on the shop and it goes faster. If I want to craft certain gear? I can buy mats. They are afraid this will come to WoW.
And some are just upset it’s a transmog and not a mount.
Sounds like they miss managed funds. Firing thousands of people, milking the fanbase for more and more over time? Miss managing and blatant greed.
Yeah, Actiblizzard is a small indie company. They won’t survive unless every player spends $1k every year on WoW! 
Blizzard makes plenty of money from subs, services and expansion sales. They do not need the money to continue the game… And even though “it’s just cosmetic!” and doesn’t give player power, it’s still very bad for the game. This damages the game far more than it helps it in the long run
oh how so? You can get the transmog for zero dollars if you so wish. Convert in game gold to Blizzard balance and buy it using tokens. So yeah you can earn anything on the shop by PLAYING the game.

I feel the same. The RaF set was worse than this because it feels like it was originally meant for Uldum or Archaeology. The Yeti and Dragon Fairy costumes I don’t really care about because they’re on the more whimsical, silly side. As long as these transmog sets stay that way I am fine with them.
The problem is the entire set is 3D instead of just a printed on texture. The only effort put into cosmetics is sold not obtainable in the game. Same with the mounts, which are much higher quality. Like the rat with unique animations.

I’m thinking I will recommend a full on vampire set, Dracula style for the next store bought mog set.
Maybe we’ll get a set for each Covenant? This one already screams Night Fae. I’d love to see what the Kyrian one would look like.

agree with everything but the transmog set looking cool lol. but that’s just my opinion.
Because cool mogs should be in the game, not behind a 20 buck paywall for no reason and no effort.

I mean, the majority of character services make absolutely no sense now, as starting a new character is simple and more efficient. Maybe a race change, but imagine doing say… 5+? Not happening. I mean it’s your money though

And they shouldn’t. Cool, and interesting mogs should be in the game I pay a sub for so that I can actually do something and go get them. Not be behind a 20 dollar pay wall. That’s dumb. So many cool things get put in the shop that we never see another version of like the Sylvian Dreamer, or the Alabaster mounts. And now we’re putting in transmogs too when they could have easily all had some kind of interesting quest line, or interesting achievement tied to them.
That’s never going to be okay in my mind.
