Title: A Serious Issue with Dungeon Vote Kick System and Player Toxicity

Their official statement is ONLY that you can kick for any reason. What others are saying is that does not mean your reason may not be idiotic. Just because you can do something does not always mean you should.

But Blizzard said my reason wasn’t dumb, abusive, or ridiculous.

No, of course not, because there hasn’t needed to be. People have used common sense for centuries now to determine “Hey, if I do this thing, I will impact your experience and I wouldn’t want that for myself, so I won’t do the same to you.”

But I’m sure, if I searched hard enough, I could probably find some case studies on what is perceived as a qualifying reason and reasons without merit.

It’s like one of the core tenets of morality. You wouldn’t want to be kicked for no real discernible reason, so why would you inflict that onto others?

Didn’t realize I needed to perform a Sunday School class on the WoW forums today.

TIL we need an academic study to know that the WoW community will abuse anything it can.

Not the VtK system, of course they wouldn’t abuse that, it’s just literally everything else. We are above kicking to troll.

Again, a reason you don’t like isn’t “no discernable reason”.

Brother, we’ve established you lacked common sense days ago. You’re just chirping for no reason now.

Probably because that one more or less died after 18 posts, while this one keeps getting bumped.
If I was a mod, I’d have combined that one with this one or just closed that other one.

But these threads usually end up getting locked anyway. People can’t help themselves and start flaming.

Well that’s not really all that’s happening here.

If it makes you feel better, I’ve voted no on kicks before because I don’t agree with the reason, I thought it wasn’t strong enough to click yes on.

But my opinion doesn’t matter outside of the instances I’m directly involved in.

It’s a player agency tool, so all that matters is what the four people voting on any given kick think.

I don’t get to dictate what’s appropriate for anyone to click yes on, you don’t get to dictate what’s appropriate for anyone else to click yes on, the only people who get a say in that are the four people participating in the vote.

It’s pretty easy to understand that.

However I can still, even as an onlooker, say their reason was dumb.

No one’s stopping you. Just as long as you understand your opinion on what’s dumb doesn’t matter.

Karvalli it’s NPC behavior to see that a thing happened and then, for no reason other than it happening, say it was perfectly fine.

It’s even worse behavior to pretend that you’re so superior to everyone, that you and you alone should get to decide what’s worth kicking someone over in a group that you aren’t even in.

Besides, you keep trying to pull this into a “good reason or bad reason” conversation, and it’s been explained numerous times, the tool isn’t about whether someone deserves to be removed or not, it’s about who the group does or doesn’t want to play with, for any reason.

I apologize for telling people to use good judgment when VtKs come across their screen.

My superiority complex took over when I suggested that people scrutinize the situation before hitting yes. Deepest of apologies.

I forgive you

Skalpy I think it’s wrong for you to step in and say that. Karvalli doesn’t appreciate you telling people who and what they can forgive.

It’s trolling then, I see.

Real recognize real.

You are talking to someone with a fool for an avatar, so…

I am talking to a taxidermy project gone wrong.

If it’s any consolation, Karvalli did the same to me last night.

I guess having the capacity to recognize when VtKs are being abused and when the reasons given are meritless is a rare skill in these parts.
