Titanforging and Warforging make me upset

Whatever gets you off as you troll the forums, enjoy it I guess?

And yet the point still remains when you completely butcher the progression path you get players in places they have absolutely no place in being. 6-9 keys are BY FAR the worst key bracket because it is the most concentrated of failed keys since you have people at 385 from various “catch up” mechanics going, “well I heard m+ gives good gear so I am going to start here where I get upgrades”. Idk the affixes. Idk the bosses. Idk how to do damage since I can kill overworld mobs spamming Incinerate, but since I get literally zero gear upgrades from something like LFR or m0 or h dungeons why on earth would I do something like that? Granted almost all 3 of those are near fail proof if you are around appropriate IL, but you would at least know you have to kill totems on volkaal equally (a mechanic not present until m0) or that if you never interrupt second boss in shrine you wipe. Actually my favorite in shrine is the second miniboss where in mid keys there is ALWAYS one person who dies to not standing in the circle for carve.

This may be correct for some casuals but not all. I for one know my abilities and when I try to out smart that knowledge I end up feeling foolish. Why should I continue placing myself in that scenario. For many years I did just that. For once I no longer feel the need too. My gear is appropriate for the content in which I do. You all seem to forget that TF and WF gear has been turned way down almost nil to get. I can attest to this because I have seen it with my own character. Getting the same items time after time that is only good for scrapping can become a frustrating issue but scrapping does have it’s upside. It seems to me discouragement is the main issue here. If I’m not raiding or doing Heroics what does it matter to any of you? Only time will tell if your wants are granted. Taking away Casuals opportunities I don’t believe is the way to go. Downgrading a persons abilities or non abilities is just finger pointing at others hoping a miracle will happen from the backs of others. That isn’t the way to win wars. It just cheapens the fight.

Like I said, most people aren’t leaving over one aspect of the game. When you add everything up it seems to many that there are more negatives than positives. To a lot of people, Titanforging is a huge negative in the game that isn’t helping them make the decision to keep playing.

Wow, attacking the poster. Did you know that’s an ad hominem logical fallacy? Guess it just goes to show you I’m right!

388 is vastly above the base item level for LFR, and 3 item levels above the base for Normal, which I see you’ve also dabbled in. My gear is actually probably what’s more appropriate for Normal, go figure. Yet most people in my guild raid are around your item level or higher, largely thanks to M+ chests (an entirely separate issue that I’m not sure how I feel about), catch-up mechanics that drop 400 gear (ehhhhh
) and forging. It’s a combination of all those things.

I don’t run m+ pugs, except 0’s on alts sometimes during the dungeon weekly so I have no idea what that’s like. I also have no desire to experience what it’s like. I lost too many keys in Legion to people bailing mid run that I simply stopped doing pugs. M+ is not content designed for people to auto succeed in, as such the solution is a social one. Form a guild. Make a community. Play with people you know can do the content you’re trying. Or don’t. Your choice. I get the frustration, but the solution is entirely within your hands.

Though I will say I find it particularly funny when people attack the first boss in Temple with the lightning shield and kill themselves. Carve Flesh is pretty good too :stuck_out_tongue:

Now see? That’s exactly what we’ve been saying.

Just a tip for you, an insult isn’t ad hominem unless it’s the basis of an argument. Sometimes an insult is just an insult. Not that I was trying to insult you, I was just pointing out that your responses are entirely trollish in nature. Considering that I’m just going to report them as such and ignore you from now on. Nice chatting.

This is the whole reason the WoW team put this system in the game, to give players something to do, to give players a way to continue progressing their characters power.

The only people who are upset with this system are those still progressing through instanced content towards that higher tier of the same instanced content : normal to heroic to mythic. meanwhile those same players are running around in the world doing WQ’s, Incursions, emissaries, warfronts just like the rest of the casual player-base, with the same chance at WF/TF upgrades as everyone else.

What you don’t seem to ever understand is those casual players are extremely content with getting those upgrades, since it makes what they do a little bit easier, and also inspires them to try things like raids and mythic+ dungeons with their friends. Also they are content with the fact that the gear is limited to a max upgraded level of a heroic equivalent of the current tiers raid by doing most everything in the game like emissaries, world bosses, also knowing that if they want a chance at a current mythic quality item they’ll need to do the warfront content, or try their luck at doing mythic+ dungeons with friends.

meanwhile those doing mythic raiding an high level key mythic+ dungeons have the chance at getting the highest ilvl gear in the game through the WF/TF system, which gives those players something to look forward to, still letting those players feel that much more powerful in terms of ilvl rating compared to the rest of the player-base that is at least a full ilvl tier behind.

Just remember this breakdown of what you can get.

WQ’s - max ilvl is set currently to 360 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 370)

Incursions - max ilvl is set currently to 370 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 385)

Emissaries - max ilvl is set currently to 385 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 400)

Warfronts - are split

  • Arathi warfront quest - max ilvl is set currently to 370 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 385)
with completion gear - max ilvl is set currently to 340 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 355)
  • rares in the zone - max ilvl is set currently to 340 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 355)
  • world boss in the zone - max ilvl is set currently to 370 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 385)
  • darkshore warfront quest - max ilvl is set currently to 400 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 415)
with completion gear - max ilvl is set currently to 355 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 370)
  • rares in the zone - max ilvl is set currently to 355 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 370)
  • world boss in the zone - max ilvl is set currently to 400 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 415)

Dungeons

  • normal - max ilvl is set currently to 340 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 355)
  • heroic - max ilvl is set currently to 355 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 370)
  • mythic - max ilvl is set currently to 370 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 385)
  • mythic+ - max ilvl at the highest key level set at 400 from end of dungeon with weekly chest set at 410 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 425 from the chest an end of dungeon loot having a chance to TF to 415)

Raids

Uldir

  • LFR - max ilvl is set currently to 340 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 355)
  • normal - max ilvl is set currently to 355 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 370)
  • heroic - max ilvl is set currently to 370 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 385)
  • mythic - max ilvl is set currently to 385 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 400)

Battle of Dazar’alor

  • LFR - max ilvl is set currently to 370 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 385)
  • normal - max ilvl is set currently to 385 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 400)
  • heroic - max ilvl is set currently to 400 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 415)
  • mythic - max ilvl is set currently to 415 ( with non azerite items having a chance to fully TF to 425)
this is the only tier that has a chance to TF at a lower set value then a +15

Now that you have all the current information maybe we can all put this topic to bed and quit complaining

In my opinion I don’t mind the system it gives me things to look forward to, by doing the content. It also gives me further options should I choose to pursue things like mythic+ dungeons or raiding if I get bored of the outdoor world.

Wait are you saying the max titanforge is +15 for all gear? Cause if so that is absolutely false.

The pug experience is fine on the low and and on the high end. I think it was Preach who made a video at one point about a fresh hidden account they played on and progressed through organically through content.

The low end is content that you can get by with a few mistakes and still make timer. The top end almost exclusively keeps to itself and io checks and such while more mediocre players generally have the idea “I probably can’t do a 10”. Where do those players go instead? The bracket right below it.

I’ve geared up my hunter a bit through keys and I have helped others in semi-pug groups and I have seen more failed interrupts or dispels and such in the 3 affix bracket than others. Getting grievous healed off between pulls? Good luck. People do not know how to use all the tools of their class. Now it is partially the game’s fault for not teaching them, but monks not using RoP in hallways or not using Detox on Decaying Mind in UR so the healer sits in a 30 second stun is something that the game cant really teach you. The only way for the game to organically teach you some things like interrupts being important is straight up killing you for not doing it and in almost every content before max level m5 or so. You will never die to a missed interrupt. The second boss of shrine on like a level 3 or so fort key can probably free cast and be healed through if the healer is somewhat overgeared.

They didn’t say emissary, they said a WQ, they are not the same thing. So yes overexaggeration when talking about a system being terrible is a thing, from a raid that’s acceptable imo.

Stop spreading misinformation. Outside of actual WQ rewards the max TF on all loot is 425. Its not 15. It SHOULD be 15. But it is the TF cap. The other warlock in my guild is rocking 420 pants from NORMAL. 35 IL McForge.

The funny part of that is I just started copying what you were doing.

The only way to get the highest ilvl loot is to either do mythic Battle of Dazar’alor or do mythic+ dungeons for the weekly chest.
The only other way to get ilvl 425 gear is to farm content for gear to scrap or dis-enchant for TR. Then use that TR to purchase the ilvl item tokens, at the outrageous prices, to create your 425 ilvl item.

Who cares if it’s exactly 425? 420 is close enough.

If items in content are TF to greater then +15 of base ilvl based on the content being done, then it’s a bug.

There are so many things wrong with this post I don’t even know where to start, but I am just going to say about everything you said here is objectively false.

Sure, but that’s because they’re doing keys they don’t know with strangers that they don’t know the skill level of. And no one wants to friend people and learn together, like every organized group does who pushes M+ content. Everyone needs to learn what things will kill you that can be glossed over in lower difficulties, what packs to skip, which ones to take, what mobs to focus on in each pull, all while under a time crunch. Even the people that pug at those levels had to learn sometime and get a high enough io score to be accepted into groups.

Again, I get what you’re saying. And I completely understand how horrible it is to try to pug at those key ranges. I truly feel for people who do. But the game isn’t responsible for handholding people through all content. People don’t just waltz into a full pug mythic raid where no one knows how to do the fights and expect to progress through without any failures, regardless of what their ilvl is. ilvl is not, nor has it ever been, an indicator of skill level or knowledge of the game.
