Titan Residuum RNG

It was a metaphor…as if to say that if you rolled a 6 on a d6, you’d miss dinner that night.

The TR only buys azerite pieces, and azerite pieces do not drop in dungeons. They can do all the 10s they want they’ll never not need to roll TR on azerite pieces. They’d have to raid mythic EP to not need to roll TR on azerite pieces.

Oh, i never experienced it myself tho’ i’ve been playing since Vanilla, but you hear about it happening through the forums. And with loot changing from ML to PL since Legion, that with Classic launching next weekend, once raids start up again once people get to 60, it’ll be interesting to see how ML is handled!

Or will people miss Personal Loot due to abused Masterlooter?

Ah, thanks for the clarification!

I’m about to spend my first 47k and’ll be praying to RNGesus!

The tears will feed me for years to come…

It’s a trash system designed to force players to do m+.

I agree - Any Azerite or Titan Residuum like system in the next xpac and I’m done.

All gear is Hunter gear.

yeah i saw it in once in Mop. RL on last boss for the run had people roll for a trinket. someone rolled 100. others didnt roll so good. RL did not roll at all. they sat there for several mins then harthed out. pug groups with master loot isn’t the best, but even then most players are helpful. passing on loot or try to give it to the one who needs it most. like who does it benefit most, a 5 ilvl increase or the one with a 20 ilvl increase.

so in a LFR or random pug world, personal loot is better. in 9.0 I would hope the Heroic and Mythic groups get master loot back. they seem to be the ones who could avoid the “abusing the power”

what will be missed in classic is the bonus rolls and Weekly quests. but at the same time, you wont have to deal with Super RNG powered players as much via Titan forging. and i like titan forging but that really puts the power difference ratio of effort vs reward into question.

in any case the titan residuum should be a counter for bad RNG not a platform for it. imo instead of RNG tokens, the previous rewards should remain up or at the very least, use Smart RNG and not reward the same Azerite item so there would be bad luck protection built into the slot machine.

My plan is to wait until I feel complete with all my other gear, then spin the wheel of despair for azerite pieces. That way I won’t feel so disappointed, like I felt when I rolled the 445 chest I’m wearing now – it was the 2nd worst piece I could roll, even though all 6 were upgrades over what I had before – still felt bad heh.

You just spent three weeks doing a thing, and would now have to spend three weeks doing the same thing in order to fix it.

Why would Blizzard, given their current game design philosophy, change this system?

My heart goes out to you, but this sound like it’s working exactly as Blizzard intended.

Welcome to Diablo’s gambling system. Just be glad those items can’t turn into blues or greens.

I wish this was Diablo’s gambling system! I can spin that wheel all day long until I get something useful. Not once every 2-3 weeks.

I want Diablo’s balancing too. "This class is too powerful! Let’s make all the other classes just as powerful!’

I wouldn’t say i’ve gotten my BiS azerite but all 3 of mine have been pretty solid so I can’t complain. Bad rng happens unfortunately and there isn’t much to be done about it.

My druid / dk though have gotten their worst pieces twice in a row now though.

I would like a vendor to let us spend our titan Residuum on something else. Like mats, resources or anything useful.

It would be nice if they allowed us a way of blocking particular items from dropping from the loot table.

Raid bosses, m+ loot, weekly m+ chest, and the residuum vendors.

Now this is my type of game

TR is just not a useful currency. JP/VP/Emblems had it better.

Even WOD’s iteration of Valor was better than this, and that was a shade of its former self.

I really dont like azerite, i do like the traits and all but getting them is a pain. If i want aoe damage i need to farm another set just for aoe.
I think by then the tier is over. Whats the point of making them super expensive if by the time you get one thats BIS the tier is pretty much over? its a super dumb design.

If the system were setup in such a manner that it identified what you already had and was capable of NOT supplying a duplicate, unless the ilvl was higher, ap traits were different or the item had a socket, different than the one being compared, then it might not be such a mess.

I personally don’t do those residuum things. I just think they are a waste because I have gotten better via my raiding and the odd drop or two from the world events. I remember the ability in Legion to get a token for a piece of gear we could turn into the vendor and choose which slot we wanted to purchase. If I recall correctly, those items were different ilvls and cost appropriate, which actually made it a decent option to find something you just needed and had not gotten yet.

I rarely purchased more than just one or two of those items in the long run because I was fortunate in my drops through my regular play and raiding to get what I really liked. However, now its a crap shoot.

I tried a couple of times with the mana pearl currency to see if I could obtain something different but found out pretty quickly that you can purchase the same item three times, but would always receive a duplicate of the one you originally purchased…so I quit doing that too.

Now I just save my mana pearls until I have a really nice piece I can upgrade and go for that instead. Because I don’t farm much, it’ll be a slow slog for me. However, I don’t mind waiting. At this point I’m fairly happy with what I have and know that eventually I’ll obtain that sought after item when I least expect it and it will be a nice surprise.
