After a very, very long time, I thought about returning to healing, at least casually, and not going beyond +10s until I feel comfortable.
The issue is:
I created a new Priest.
I hit level 10 and queue for my first dungeon. Everyone else is level 80 in most cases.
My experience:
I steal aggro with Smite or Flash Heal, and at that level I don’t have Fade yet, and… I end up dead.
Is this normal?
Leveling the priest to 30, I died more times than doing all M+ in Legion and BfA combined.

Sounds like a tank issue, or a prepatch, post squish issue.
Maybe they squished the damage of spells but under the hood you’re still generating the threat of a harder hitting spell.
It’s not normal, but it’s unclear what it could be.
You shouldn’t worry about anything related to balance until you reach max level. Blizzard does 0 work to balance the leveling experience. If you are stealing aggro through healing the tank he’s probably not taunting or even pressing his buttons though, you’re going to find some very bad players in the random dungeon finder. Just use it as an opportunity to learn how to cover people’s mistakes.
