Since the Pre-Patch Event is about to begin and with it chance to get replacement gear one of the matters I haven’t heard or seen popular youtubers mention is to replace all your Azerite gear during this event with either Drops from ICC Bosses or with the purchasable gear prior to entering Shadowlands. Since Azerite traits will no longer work once you enter Shadowlands, replacing your Azerite Armor with this armor will at least give you secondary stats instead of only Stam and your primary stat.

I mean, I guess for speed levelers sure. But I’m not overly concerned about my stats 10 lvls under the lvl cap.
Don’t get me wrong, I am going to get all that stuff you mentioned for the transmog. But gear performance isn’t my concern until 60. Heck 90% of it will be replaced with a green piece by 55 anyway.

Does the neck also stop working? I hope so, so I dont have to farm essences.
Just as Azerite traits go dormant in Shadowlands zones, Essences are also not usable there.
Yeah I can’t wait to scrap every single piece of Azerite garbage I have.

I didn’t replace any of my gear during leveling on beta. :\
Vendor it, it’s worth more than scrapping it.

iirc azerite armor has significantly more primary stat than other gear so replacing it isn’t really a priority, as primary stats are actually pretty strong across the board right now.
Azerite gear has a crap ton of main stat. I hear people are keeping it long into Shadowlands because it’s better than anything else.
I wouldn’t vendor it just yet…
In this case not to me I will have more fun destroying it. I just wish I could make a big pile and burn every piece while making S’mores.

You’re also ilvl 127 which I’m pretty sure is mythic lvl or high mythic+ key lvl. Yall usually don’t replace it until close to lvl cap, heck I had my legiondary until like 119.
But for most people who the catch up gear would “matter” for its going to get replaced fast.
I just noticed that today and I am quite confused about this. ilvl 100 catch up gear has 15 less int that a ilvl 72 azerite piece
Exactly. It’s going to be a while before we’ll have to replace gear. Personally, I’d rather have secondary stats on those three pieces when I quest.
Because Azerite gear has no secondary stats.
isn’t main stat still king/ better than secondaries?
Will Azerite gear and the Heart of Azeroth still work as normal outside of Shadowlands zones? I don’t plan to buy Shadowlands for some time and would hate if all of my level 50 characters were suddenly nerfed.
I think the main stat is gonna out weigh the secondary stat gains in SL
The devs really want ilvl upgrades to always be character upgrades so they just made main stat op
I’d personally rather have secondaries while I level. There’s no meta while leveling. But I’d rather have more haste. I have no Azerite traits to give me that stuff anymore.

If you’re not getting shadowlands, you’ll want your azerite gear. The traits and your neck will still work in non-shadowlands zones.
Personally, I’m keeping my azerite gear until the main stats get taken over by shadowlands gear. It just doesn’t seem worth it to me otherwise.

I am sitting at 147 right now, I don’t know for sure but the Main stats are still higher. I am not sure about diminishing returns but I am looking around at my map and I don’t see how i’ll get into heroics without replacing them but
