While the tinker isn’t what I would want to see added, I do think it could work as a class.

I just think there are better more interesting ideas for a new class then “uses titan tech or steam and/or magic punk stuff”

I would rather see current classes get new specs added to them than a new class that seemingly has little more then vibs to define it.

Think Torbjörn (DPS), D.Va (Tank), and Ana (Heals) from Overwatch.

  • Torbjörn makes turrets and gizmos to fight with
  • D.Va uses a mech suit to tank with
  • Ana uses a rifle and thrown devices to heal with

I haven’t played OW:2, so I don’t know about whether the other new characters would line up with a Tinker or not, but these older ones do. I’d also say a Tinker should have cloth armor. We haven’t had a new clothie since the game started (priest, mage, warlock). Plus, that’d make sense with getting into a mech (you don’t want/need leather, mail, or plate getting into one).

So were Mountain Kings and Blade Masters. That didn’t stop them both from being rolled into warriors.

There was also the Firelord hero, but that didn’t stop Firelord just being a title you get for killing heroic Ragnaros.

the “x cant exist cuz y does” argument has never made sense. paladins are just priests in plate, that didnt stop them from existing. warlocks are just spicy mages, that didnt stop them either. demon hunters are just melee warlocks. still got those.

ret plays a lot different than shadow priest, demon hunters play a lot different from any warlocks, and mages play a lot different from warlocks.
They have drastically different gameplay.

There isnt a difference of gameplay on how tinkers usually are made compared to warcraft shamans. though.

Sure you can make a ranger class that does the very same stuff marksmanship does but it will just be pointless.
