Hoping for it ≠ thinking they will do it :slightly_smiling_face:

TBF, dropping a support spec mid-expansion is far more disruptive than a standard class dropping mid-expansion with standard specs. Augmentation continues to cause balance issues.

Also it wouldn’t be out of thin air. If a Tinker class drops in 11.1.5, obviously they would have been working on it for some time.

Are we talking about another pet class?

But instead of demons or beasts, it’s robots/droids?

I really hope we get a Tinker class this expansion, especially for the anniversary.

I don’t think they will keep the name Tinker, similar to how they didn’t keep the name Dragonsworn, they called them Evokers.

There is so much they can do with a Tinker class! Robot pets, explosives, mech suits, alchemy or they could do something like FF14’s Machinist class.

Here’s hoping they surprise us! (Also we need Bards!)

I love reading people’s posts as to why it’s impossible to add a class mid xpac heh.

Oh no, it’ll be disruptive, oh no it’ll break the meta.

Change is ok people, in fact, change is good.

Augmentation Evoker (and what you were talking about is even worse, since Augment Evokers was just a specialization - not a class).

Also tinkers already exists. You become one by picking up the engineering profession.

Again, disrupting the meta can happen at any time, just look at this first season of TWW, prot warrior was the king of M+ tanking until they performed a mid patch Paladin rework… pretty cool how big of changes Blizz is willing and able to make without breaking the game.

You’re right, “Tinkers” are a part of the engineering profession. Did you know that inscription used to make glyphs in which you could ‘collect’ and change at will once gathered?

Just to say that professions can change, can change dramatically.

You’re hung up on the wrong/silly aspects of these “counter arguments”, unless again, just arguing for the sake of it.

guess we all became tinkers in MoP remix too because we all had tinker slots

You literally cannot do even an 8th of the stuff that the Tinker fantasy can do when portrayed by NPCs, or Tinkers in other warcraft media like Rumble, Hearthstone, or even HotS & WC3

And it’s clear that players don’t really have interest in intermingling the Engineering profession with their actual class fantasy. Hardly anyone uses the bombs or on-use gimmicks that have zero player power and only serve to add to button bloat

I highly recommend you take a look at the Tinker class in Conquest of Azeroth- or in other non-WoW MMOS, the Warhammer Online Dwarf Engineer, Guild Wars 2 Engineer, FF14 Machinist, Lost Ark Artllery to get a better sense of what the class fantasy can actually promise in a gameplay format

it has been brought to my attention that MarcelianOnline has a video talking about how cool the tinker class would be

I can’t post the video embed directly for some reason but here’s the link

LFG!

I literally just finished watching that video

Blizz have to be lacking in all the senses to not see the demand for Tinker class! I’ve not seen the forums so loud about it since War Within’s reveal!!!
