Timewalking Rewards

Timewalking badges need a fresh update. Especially now that there are so many new rewards to earn. The idea of years (or an all-out sweatfest) to finish them feels out of place these days. Timewalking should be a light, fun trip down memory lane, not another grind. Kind of like Trial of Style; It’s great to jump in, pick up a few items, and then hop out of without feeling like you spent too much “WoW Time” on it.

Maybe I am not hardcore enough, but I should not be wowheading where the vendors are. It makes more sense to have the new portal rooms that pop up from the Bronze Dragonflight to just have its down central hub that has the current season portals but also has the timewalking vendors there, you could have them all there, or a small portal and only the current one “visiting” or just have brokers, or etheraels take the place as merchants.

Correct, you should not be doing that, because the 1st boss/run (can’t remember exactly) of every TW week will give you a quest to cash in at the Vendors for 500 tokens.

Hey Altesh, thanks for the correction. I still use Wowhead, that was an oversight on my part for not reading the quests carefully. I usually just google current Timewalking vendor and click the top Wowhead link to see where in the city they are in because I never remember. lol.

That said, the core issue isn’t their locations (although a central hub in the portal room would certainly be more convenient). The bigger problem is that the badge system and reward pacing need rebalancing so it doesn’t feel like running a marathon. Vendor placement was just the cherry on top. Making it feel more like a convenience-focused direction, which WoW seems to be heading in lately.

No it doesn’t. They won’t be putting new stuff on those vendors for a long time. It’s long term. People need to stop trying to finish everything in a week or month. And pick and choose what.you like best or will use. Prioritize.

Hey Sendryn, I totally agree that Timewalking should remain a long-haul affair and that nobody needs to sprint through every reward in a single week. What I’m concerned about is the sheer mismatch between the number of available items and the rate at which you earn badges. Even grabbing one reward can cost thousands of badges. Thats no small feat for casual or new players. Let alone collecting several favorites, or every single one. Ideally, each Timewalking window should feel like you’re getting a bit more value for a bit less effort. It doesn’t have to swing all the way to a speedrun, but the badge-to-reward ratio definitely needs a tune up so everyone can enjoy the event at their own pace.

I think they have been adding more and more stuff to the vendors, and even made a 2nd vendor for pandaland. They also upped the amount of of badges you earn from the average run I think.
But yes I agree. TW rewards have never been about instantly unlocking everything. It was made for the long haul, and that’s just fine!

Now that we can send badges between characters, I tend to get what I want most from Timewalking pretty easily.
