Could very well be them. But their real goal was completely transparent. Keep their team together, level fast and jump into WSG and the rank/ladder real early before the competition starts getting thick. But the plan requires that the battlegrounds are open earlier than Blizz has planned.
For all I know, they might have 20 players - 10 on a side and they can fight premade to premade until rank is achieved. But if they have to wait 6 month, there will be lots of premades competing for honor and things are much harder to control. Likewise in open world pvp - nobody can control the honor gains.
