Small indie companies like Activision-Blizzard can’t be expected to maintain multiple professions.

You should know that devs can create new things for people like you, without eliminating existing ones, especially since fishing, archeology and cooking are all required professions.
They are not something the game forces you to have.
Unfortunately you have not presented any alternatives.
I prefer to add something to the game, rather than remove it for no good reason greater than lack of imagination.
Cooking competition with random old world npcs as judges. Players get to pick combos from a list of ingredients. You win your recipe is sold off a special vendor and you get some cosmetic chef hat (like on nailed it),
There’s so many fun ways to revitalize professions. I agree, druids are better off fishing without a pole.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to remove content. Though I do think it’s about time Blizz made these professions a bit more interesting and dynamic, particularly Archaeology.
Time for more Fishing and Cooking contests, and for an entire rethink of Archaeology.
I like Archaeology.

I dunno OP but if there’s something unnecessary and irrelevant that you hate in the game, just don’t do it. Just not fish. Don’t cook. It’s that easy my dude.

Pretty much how I feel. I could take or leave Arch, but don’t touch Fishing or Cooking.
Already took First Aid, even though Shadowlands would have been a great place to revive it.

Tend to agree with the folks who have pointed out that removing completely optional professions is not only unnecessary but just plain dumb.

That was the overwhelming feeling I got with First Aid. Blizzard acted like it was basically some huge chore, to upgrade it for the next expansion. But they gave it to tailors, who make Tidespray bandages. So what was the point?
Why do I have a sinking suspicion that this isn’t a real complaint thread? That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

I don’t do Arenas or BGs but I’m not advocating that they be removed from the game.
