Ok, I finally, FINALLY got another piece of LFR Aberrus gear.

I did the Researchers Under Fire quest in Zaralek Cavern.
Captain Reykal dropped a Smoldering Howler Horn trinket which is useless.
However, when turning in the quest, I got an Appreciative Researcher’s Gift which had a Cache of Embers (epic). Inside THAT was Suffused Handwraps i489 and I thought “oh, the iLvl is too high”, but tried it anyway.

I took it to the Catalyst and got Grasp of the Furnace Seraph - LFR Aberrus Hands.

I was under the impression from either bad or outdated comments that you needed i402, but nope…489.

EDIT: What’s odd is that the gear from Heroic Aberrus which I still have is i428 so there’s some odd discrepancy between the iLvl numbers with Raid Finder working with a higher iLvl. Could just be the ID of the gear.

And just to be clear, 454 gear doesn’t work, nor does 467.

It’s because of season 4. S4 DF recycled the three raid tiers and world events in a rotation where each was Awakened for a week, and each class voted for which of the three tier appearances would be their Awakened set, which for priests was the one you’re after (Furnace Seraph’s Verdict).

This rotation is still going, so if you get epics from the Awakened world events you can catalyst them to make the S4 LFR tier set for your class. It’s a pain in the butt figuring out which events are awakened since you can’t see the weekly quest for it after 70 or 71, but it works for getting the voted S4 LFR appearances.

Spent a couple weeks on it to get the DK LFR set since I didn’t have one leveled in DF.

I think, but could well be wrong, that the Suffusion Camp thingy may work as well then. I remember getting a similar ilvl item from them on my warlock a few months back. Might be worth the try :slight_smile:

Last week, Fyrrak dropped an epic Trinket (again with the trinkets!). I just did it today and I didn’t get any epic gear, only blue, and none of it worked in the Catalyst, sadly. That includes the chest and Disciple. I might do it on my mage just to see if it was a fluke week or not.

EDIT: Just did the Suffusion Camp on my mage. Chest only. I got a 480 Suffused Cowl which works at the Catalyst, but converts to Wayward Chronomancer’s Chronocap which I have already.

I think I’m going nuts haha.

Did Researchers on my mage. Got a 480 pair of boots and 489 gloves - the same Suffused Handwraps I got on my priest that converted to Aberrus LFR. So I thought that they’d convert to Amidrassil and Aberrus LFR, respectively. Nope, both Amidrassil LFR.

I’m so confused.

Did Grand Hunt, got 480 belt. Put it in the Catalyst and got 480 Sash of the Furnace Seraph for Aberrus LFR. Another piece!

Still confused.

I want to be clear about how inconsistent this is:

Priest 480 from Fyrrak-> Amidrassil LFR
Priest 489 from Researchers → Aberrus LFR
Mage 480 from Fyrrak → Amidrassil LFR
Mage 489 from Researchers → Amidrassil LFR
Priest 480 from Grand Hunt → Aberrus LFR.
Priest weekly Time Rift has only given me 402 trinkets for three weeks so far.

For funzies:
Rare bosses around Thaldraszus gives a token piece → Vestment of Raging Tempests, into the Catalyst → Draconic Hierophant’s Vestment which is Vault of the Incarnates Normal.

When Time Needs Mending week 4: Suffused Scepter 480 offhand. Again with the useless items. Interesting that it’s not a 402 item and not a trinket this time.

Researchers got me 480 Suffused Gloves AGAIN, and a 480 Deeprock Cape which transformed in the Catalyst to Shroud of the Furnace Serapth for Aberrus LFR, so another piece.

Fyrakk: 480 belt which converted to Aberrus LFR belt which I already had.
