The same reason Cow people can be paladins because it doesn’t make sense and WoW is a fantasy world.
You should actually do all the Cata quest lines and then it will make perfect sense why taurens became paladins. They are the Sun Walker paladins and they worship An’she. They came about to help heal Azeroth from the Cataclysm. So it does make sense. You just don’t know the lore because you chose not to.
You could become a Sunwalker in Cata by doing the SFK quest chain on a Horde paladin. It was a quest made just for the Tauren. There was a lot of lore put into that and custom quests and a sword you could only get on a Sunwalker paladin that did the quest.
Now show me all the lore in game that points to worgen becoming paldins…I’ll wait.
I race changed my BE pally to a tauren as soon as Cata dropped and did all the quests. I was a Sunwalker paladin for all of Cata.
I mean you just answered the question yourself.
You just quoted me saying why taurens could become paladins and then quoted me again of me saying to prove how worgens could be paladins and are acting as though I gave the answer as to how worgens could be paladins by talking about how tauren could be.
So…there’s your proof. NOWHERE in the lore does it say that worgen can be paladins. While their is an entire quest chain…in worgen territory about how and why the tauren became paladins during Cata.
I know a spark had to of went off there lol
There was no lore suggesting Tauren could be paladins either prior to them being added. You are being pedantic.
I can assure you that modern audiences wouldn’t protest anti-white rhetoric. Perhaps you were the modern audience all along.
I never said that now, did I? I specifically stated that it was during Cata. Those were my words exactly about the quest. I never said prior to anything. I said DURING, not prior to. You don’t seem to have played Cata. Thats why you know so little about it,
Then what is the issue here? You seem to be in full agreement that lore can be added to allow Worgen Paladin.
I was never arguing otherwise.
Then ask for the lore to be changed to add them in. Just adding them just because is not good. And how those ugly trolls can be paladins now… that is just terrible. My two fav toons in retail right now are my worgen warrior and my paladin.
It was a quest chain to get Taurens to become paladins and it was also the theme of the Cata expac. Blizz is adding new stuff all the time. Just logged into ptr and got an ungoldy amount of title spam but they added new titles I guess or maybe just haven’t checked in a while.
Nah there’s just a bug that keeps re-applying titles you got a while ago. Bug’s been persisting for a while, maybe even TWW start.
First of all, nothing in the lore states that worgen have issues with the Light. Many assumptions stem from the fact that worgen tend to easily manipulate shadow-related magics, likely because they are often found in darker environments.
As for Gilneas, the kingdom participated in the Second War, during which paladins were created to combat the orcs, who were the main enemy. A stronger force was needed because priests alone weren’t sufficient. It has never been stated that Gilneas had paladins, but there’s also no indication that they didn’t. Their isolation began after the Second War, when the kingdom was asked to contribute financially to maintain the orc prisoner camps. Genn refused and advocated for the extermination of the orcs. When he realized that the majority disagreed with him, he sealed the kingdom’s gates.
It’s completely illogical to claim that Gilneas was unaware of the existence of paladins during that time. They likely witnessed their effectiveness in battle.
Regarding the worgen curse, at what point was it stated that worgen couldn’t wield the Light? Every time Blizzard talks about worgen, they are described as humans first and foremost. The curse originates mainly from druidism, and there is no reason the Light couldn’t be used by them.
The same goes for the idea that a worgen becomes “completely pacified” after the ritual. It has never been said that this ritual makes them as gentle as a labrador. Worgen are constantly torn between the rage imposed by the curse and their humanity. The ritual merely allows them to regain a human form and slightly quell their urges.
Another point I’ve seen raised is about paladins. Sorry to break it to you, but they pray to the Light and share the same foundation as priests. The big difference is that they adhere to a strict code of conduct, guided by five great virtues that are the essence of their order.
A worgen can absolutely follow the path of a paladin, but it would require them to calm the beast within and embark on a spiritual journey, including rituals, to soothe their soul.
I’ll end with this: there’s a Void Elf paladin. From that moment on, anyone can be a paladin—because if a creature that fundamentally contradicts the logic of the Light can wield it, then nothing is impossible.
Sure, sure. Just take a seat at the end of the line, behind NEs!
It’s also time for worgen tails.
Not true there is a Worgen paladin in Hearthstone. Yes I know some people don’t consider Hearthstone cannon with WoW lore but it’s still the same universe and some things that were in Hearthstone have been brought to the WoW story so its not impossible to see something like Worgen paladins in the future. Just like how Worgen in Hearthstone have tails. We will see them one day too. I would just ignore the “but muhhhhh lore” poster they have already proved themselves to be a fool and post thier own head cannon as lore so they aren’t even worth replying to.
Explain how it’s trolling to not post on my Paladin.
No, I told you exactly why I brought it up.
And it’s still entirely wrong.
Quantity is entirely irrelevant, because the quality of the statement is that it’s incorrect and not relevant to Paladins in WoW at all.
They do when you try to bring up emotion as a reason Worgen can’t be paladin.
Arthas’ emotions aren’t the reason he became the Lich King, it was his donning the Helm of Domination, which he didn’t do until he’d been a Death Knight and scoured Lordaeron.
Uther never says to not feel emotions either, he specifically says, “Vengeance must never be a part of what we do”, meanwhile in Classic WoW Retribution is a Paladin specialization and Vengeance is a talent therein, and, once again, the Scarlet Crusade exists. Like I said before, that lore was thrown in the trash at the very start of WoW, and it doesn’t matter whether you think otherwise or not.
I want to play a gold-clad vulpera paladin and you can’t stop me.
…Blizz is stopping me though.
There’s always time for more Ret.
I personally did not know this… and as I said already, the lore as is does allow for their existence and we have known for a long time that there are Gilnean paladins… so te existence of a Worgen Paladin in hearthstone just adds to the pile of things that support their existence.
The lore wasn’t actually thrown out… it was never lore to begin with. Uther’s statements about vengeance was never a statement of paladin lore, it was a statement of Uther’s beliefs and the beliefs he tried, and failed to, to instill upon Arthas. Paladins could always persue Vengeance, Uther just believed they shouldn’t and trained those who served with him to believe the same.
