Who’s with me?

Not a chance. The permanence of Classic is one of the largest appeals it has over private servers at this point.
He said a, singular. Not reset your server.
You must be unfamiliar with the private server scene, huh?
Any time a “F R E S H” realm was opened, the others died because everyone always wanted to be on the newest, most popular realm. It was a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy wherein people fearing everyone else would leave to the new realm would themselves leave to the new realm.
Many realms never made it past BWL, fewer still past AQ40, and this is one of the biggest reasons as to why. In Classic, releasing new realms would offer even far greater appeal due the prominence of various forms of cheating and horrendous effects layering had on the game.
The release of F R E S H realms would immediately spell the end for all the existing realms, and the considerable effort put into progressing characters on those realms would be entirely wasted as the remaining few are unable to sustain the end-game with the dwindled numbers.
Im very aware, thats not how I interpreted what he said. Say less.
No.
Thanks

A well structured season system with rewards for retail for participating would definitely be an interesting thought experiment, but I doubt blizzard has the resources to entertain the idea.
i’d be all for a phase 2 locked server, maybe phase 3… but that’s it.
Unlike pservers, your characters will never be deleted and the servers will not be deleted. Your character has permanence. But if people are bored with the game, they should not be forced to play it. If people want to play F R E S H for their $15 a month, Blizzard should provide them with the option, so that they don’t lose them to a F R E S H pserver instead.
The fact my characters would still be available on the old realms doesn’t change the fact I’m stuck on a dead realm with practically no one playing on it because everyone is enjoying “F R E S H” content.
Leave the seasonal garbage where it belongs: Diablo 3.
The alternative is being stuck on a dead realm with practically no one playing on it because no one is enjoying “stale” content.
At least with F R E S H, more people are satisfied.
That’s clearly not what is happening, though. The populations are quite healthy on almost every server.
That’s because Naxx isn’t out yet. The first KT kill will be game over for many many people.
I suspect anyone who is bored enough with the game to quit after they kill KT one time probably won’t be killing KT any time soon.
I firmly believe you are wrong. There’s no reason to believe any guild which can clear AQ won’t be able to clear KT. Most guilds have cleared AQ.
Out of the people who would quit classic after KT kill, a non-insignificant portion would keep playing on a F R E S H server. F R E S H servers are good for the game and for the players.
IDK what people are smoking. If blizz doesn’t create new realms occasionally, the vanilla servers are going to die. WoW has always based itself on progression.
You clearly never played on a private server. Nostalrius, Elysium and Kronos were all past BWL and 1.6.
Good points tbh.
