If you own a piece of normal/heroic/mythic tier gear, you should be able to convert an appropriate level piece to a lower difficulty version of the tier to unlock the appearance
I don’t wanna do more lfr for lfr appearances and take gear from people who can actually use it
Earning a higher difficulty version of the item should unlock the transmog for all lower difficulties.

Felt this way forever. Especially since its just a color pallet swap. At least now you can upgrade LFR>Norm Norm>Hero Hero>Mythic using crests/valor stones. But it does suck if doesnt give you the lower tier version. But at least you technically can work to up the tier
Bad fix.
Still doesn’t help to get the weapons & lookalikes.
Tier is already stupideasy to get. Guarantee that the catchup gear before 11.2 will be veteran track and abundant.
I never tried to imply its difficult to actually get the pieces, more the fact limited by charges
