Thwarting the Twins

Dude I just don’t understand alright if using simple consumables makes the fight super duper easy why not do it I have to know, why is this so difficult to answer i don’t get it.

Karam - movement speed and damage increase the longer he stays alive.
Raest - kill Karam and Raest enrages shooting shadowbolts of death that do about 15-20% of your HP every hit.

Their HP pools are way overtuned (especially for affliction warlock).

The transmogs are cool, but the instance sucks and the developers don’t know what they are doing. The recent “fixes” demonstrate that.

Yea aff is super easy you just run in circles and drain life during last phase

I don’t think shadows is that overtuned, but afflictions 100% is agreed.

The health is, I’m well aware you can just spam drain life and out heal raests enrage, but doing the fight conventionally is damn near impossible.

If he weren’t wrong, he wouldn’t need advice on how to beat it now would he.

OP kinda asked for it with his troll thread. Sorry it displeases you that someone else is getting some of what they gave.

He’s not wrong for some challenges. Namely Agatha and most of the Sigryns.

Shadows version of the twins though, still pretty hard.

In all seriousness though, I have said it in the many other threads regarding mage tower…there are STILL some encounters that need tuning.

Thwarting the Twins being a MAJOR one…

Raest was buffed in health by 300% going from 70k on the ptr to 201k on live without testing.

The encounter was originally made in legion to have it be a mechanics fight where you have phases to burn Raest and leave him with roughly 20% health left in the final phase 5 “all mechanics at once you better finish that last 20% of him fast” while doing it all…

NOT do mechanics for 3-4 minutes while tickling Raest for 15-20% each mid phase and have to cheese drain life for 5 minutes through his enrage for the remainder of 60%+ of his health because the only way to win is to kill Karam and force the pseudo enrage.

Raest health needs a nerf, take it to 125k or so, not the absurd 201k…that way he still has health left in phase 5 and you still have to burn the final health while kiting and dealing with all mechanics and you don’t have to cheese it to win.

Shadows version of raest has 134k. Which is probably about 10k too much to consistently burn through doing the fight normally in SL gear without really close to perfect play.

I’ve no idea why afflictions has almost double that. Not to mention how hard it is for aff to deal with hands.

Aff deals with hands just fine agony corruption and. ID drain soul and they die

wow, didn’t know that…affliction warlock he has 201k in the encounter…pop all cd’s in burn phases and you are good to do 20% of his health in each while kiting.

If Affy had him with 135k we MIGHT be able to do the encounter how it was designed and not have to push Reast enrage…sigh

Oh ye, you have kick for all of them too. Forgot about that.

Shadow kinda doesn’t :stuck_out_tongue:

Yea aff does have a kick for them all, aff is honestly prolly one of the easier ones with frost mage being the easiest for twins.just a lot of circles and a lot of drain soul

I’d say…

Frost > Balance > Aff with cheese > shadow with cheese >>> Shadow >>>>>> Aff ( Actually just impossible )

No idea where MM hunter fits into this.

Also kinda funny that locks hunters and mages have the option of using their pet in p5 to soak runes.

Idk why tou guys call it cheese, it’s literally just using affs tool kit lol no exploits or anything

I heard from another player, a hunter, in another thread that it suffers the same as Affy…Raest has too much health to burst in his attacking phases

I’m just calling it cheese because it’s going out of the bosses range. It’s not what’s intended but there’s no stigma against it.

Lots of shadows did the same too.

I greatly enjoy running im circles and drain lifing

Oh wait aff just stays in the whole time? Less cheese than shadows slow strat then, but still not how the fight was designed to play out.

I call it cheese because that is not how the fight was at all designed…it was designed and functioned great in Legion to be mechanics heavy with a couple of burst phases then a race burn on Reasts final health before you get too overwhelmed with mechanics and adds…now it is do mechanics for 40% of the fight time then pray and survive with Inevitable Demise Drain Life spam the remainder of the LONG 60% “burn”

Yea we run in circles and cast agony on all the little trash and cast max stacks drain life onto boss
