Nope, nothing to see here. Move along.
There was a rogue on my server named Hehe who got Thunderfury............ To be fair no one knew at that time how much a tank weapon it really was.
honestly, a rogue with that thing could use vanish to manage the extra aggro generation from it
11/14/2018 04:01 PMPosted by Grimjulof course a rogue posts this
Except most of the videos posted are TF dps warriors :^)

I used to work with a guy who played a hunter that was given Thunderfury over the tanks.

Tfury is also a solid weapon on a ret pally (imo better than rogues)

Isn't the usual main reason for giving it to the tank to increase tank's threat generation and allow more of the DPS to open the throttle more?

It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]
Thunderfury is BiS for a rogue as an offhand weapon because of the proc, but the role of the main tank is so much more important for the raid than the role of a single melee DPS.
If I'm running a raiding guild, thunderfury can go to rogues maybe after 3 or 4 tanks have it.
Or as an alternative, once a guild has progressed to the point where they have t2, t2.5 or t3 gear and don't really need to farm MC all that much, ~15 guild members or so could run MC and pug the rest while reserving the bindings. That way you can run 3 raid lockouts per week and pump out the thunderfurys much faster. In a year's time you should be able to have ~6 of them. I'd say at that point you can have a few rogues with thunderfury.

A Paladin would actually have highest proc uptime of any class due to SoR/JoR being able to trigger procs, plus with Shadow Oil + Dragonbreath Chili on top = mmmm gud...

Nobody in their right mind would give TF to a paladin.

several Paladins have it across servers and my statement still stands
The way the current Vanilla meta is... Threat is what holds back DPS, nobody is arguing that Tfury isnt an AMAZING DPS weapon, but its completely wasted if the DPS using it keeps pulling agro and dieing. Giving it to the tank first just makes more sense, increase in TPS allows every DPS who is threat capped to go that much harder (a good dps warrior will still be threat capped against a traditional tank who has thunderfury). The net gain for the raid is higher if the tank can generate more threat, I would argue that a rogue gains MORE DPS from the tank having the thunderfury than from the rogue himself having it just because he has more room to breath with the threat cap.
A rogue had the 1st Thunderfury on my server. He used cloth damage and healing gear with it. (early in the game) It was more DPS.
The spell damage rogue was fixed not long after.
