Blizzard, why? As someone who feels that Skyriding/Dragonriding is one of the single worst additions to this game in 20 years, why did you feel the need to lock a zone meta and therefore patch meta behind a horrible achievement?
I understand that other people enjoy Skyriding/Dragonriding, but this is akin to Children’s Week when you required PvP from all players, not just the PvP focused players, effectively causing many players to be unable to complete the achievement. However, thankfully, it was eventually removed.
Please remove this achievement from the “Yelling Into the Voidstorm” achievement and “Light up the Night” overall meta achievement. It is more akin to a Feat of Strength than a “regular” achievement. I feel that this is warranted since The War Within established that these “patch meta achievements” stack onto one another, such as “You Xal Not Pass” being a requirement for the Expansion meta achievement “Worldsoul-Searching.” If the same predicted pattern is used, then this is effective locking me from completing the Expansion meta achievement and the mount likely tied to this.

You can do this extremely easily.
You need to have turn and strafe keybound, for instance E and D.
Then you fly really high, pitch down just every so slightly, hold E and D and you can click your mouse so your camera isn’t spinning.
literally hold 2 keys down for 60 seconds and achievement done, you don’t need to use a single ability.
I just tried this 6 different times, not sure what I’m doing wrong or if Blizzard detected fun, but this doesn’t work.
Hi there!,
I used a completely different strategy than what was listed above for this particular achievement! You may view what I did by watching this Youtube video below! Found this method a whole lot easier!
Thank you, I appreciate the help, but I cannot Dragon Ride/Skyride. It is something that I have not been able to do since Dragonflight. I actively use Steady Flight/Regular Flying and detest this system. So, unfortunately, no amount of “get gud noob” will cause me to suddenly become capable of doing this achievement.
I would understand if this was a “for fun” achievement, or even a Feat of Strength, but Blizzard actively sabotaging a portion of the player base, which includes others with motion sickness that simply do not or cannot use this system, is poor design in my opinion.
I just did this 6 times, following this method, using the in game stopwatch (which I didnt start until several seconds AFTER starting being chased). Each time I got to 70-75 seconds before being killed, and I have YET to get the achievement. I am starting to think the dang thing is broken at the moment.
“At the moment” is pretty recent, then, because I did that exact method two weeks ago.
You have the get the maximum turn rate by using both turn and strafe keys at the same time, and you may have to bop the strafe key a couple if times for it to take (you’ll see the difference when it happens).
what do you mean you can’t do ?
you can just press 1 button and speed up so you don’t fall out of the sky once every like 10 seconds and can just fly in a straight line
This method worked for me, the spiraling one never did.
